In Mobile, Doedicurus can gather more obsidian than Anky. Just enable wandering and place it near the obsidian rock.

Every tame is an axe or a pick. Doed is an axe, anky is a pick. Sabre is an axe, direwolf is a pick. There’s exceptions but once you get the system it’s usually pretty obvious what to use for each resource.

I noticed that the Doedicurus mines more than twice as much Obsidian as the Ankylosaurus.

From the same rock, the Ankylosaurus gets about 35 Obsidian, while the Doedicurus gets around 110 Obsidian. Is this happening for you too?
