For mid-game wood collection. Using the chainsaw and beaver with an argentavis makes for fast collection. Use the chainsaw to collect the wood and put it in the beaver. Then pick the beaver with the argentavis back to your base.

Enable Moschops wandering and they will collect many wood with berries and thatch also

A note on Mammoths and Wood. I have recently noticed that mammoths seem to be less good than Castroides at getting wood, HOWEVER, I then realized... For whatever reason, if you want Mammoths to get mostly wood. The "attack" they use is the [spacebar]... I never would have thought of that, but what do you know! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Take mammoth to the swamp on any map you'll get tons of wood plus the added bonus of rare mushrooms and flowers

Mammoth gives a good amount of wood but can gave a massive weight reduction.Chainsaw get the most amount of wood,but you will get easily encumbered,so you can use a chainsaw with a mammoth follows so when you get uncumbered you can put the woods in the mammoth

If you have a mammoth and a chain saw you need to use them in conjunction for gathering I could get almost 800 wood per tree now my chainsaw was ramshackle though but it was easy to carry 3,000+ wood makes behemoth gates as sinch!

I use a hatchet because I don't have a beaver or mammoth

Use mammoth It reduces the wood by 75% and gathers a bunch with its stomo attack. Which is the jump button when riding.

Get a mammoth or rollrat, even though they don’t gather as much wood as a beaver they have better weight reduction and a decent amount of wood collecting. Plus their weight carry percentage is better

You can use a stegosaurus to gather woods, using the heavy plates mode. They don't have weight reduction, however, they have a lot of weight. Moreover it gathers so much wood! It's amazing, I have a stego named Stella and every tree give me almost 100 woods and she can hold between 800 to 700 woods inside it's inventory.

2 man Meta : Someone chainsaw trees and the other guy is punsh him from tree to tree when u have full cap of wood the other guy can grapple u to the base (grapple tipp: try to grapple on head idk why but it worka better)

If you want a quick way to get wood, look no further than the beaver dams. There is so much wood there and there's also cementing paste and rare flowers/mushrooms (sometimes silica pearls too!). Although the beavers can make this tricky...

For mobile,u can’t farm wood with Stego.

Stegos are the best to gather wood in early game

It matters not, everyone can get the chainsaw on Crystal isles. You can get a good quality one from yellow drops in the desert biome. I have an alright mastercraft one and I got 500 from a sapling
