Yesterday, my tribe and I successfully defeated the Alpha Broodmother for the first time.
Initially, our tribe fought the Beta Broodmother with 18 megatheriums (~lvl 279, ~22k health, ~590% melee, ~47 armor saddles), one yuti (no imprinting, lvl 240ish) and a daeodon (no imprinting, lvl 240ish). With this army, I was not surprised that be defeated the Beta Broodmother, but some of the megatheriums ended up with only a few thousand health left. Since the Alpha Broodmother was quite a step up, our tribe started using the results of the Beta fight as preparation.
For the Alpha Broodmother, we decided that everyone without a mount would be shooting ARs (journeyman or higher) at the spider. Three people in our tribe had the shooting role. The shooters had strong armor (flak), stimulants (in case an araneo attacked), and shadow steak sauté (helps aim).
We also decided that a daeodon was near useless because it barely healed the megatheriums in the Beta fight, and it ran out of food near instantly (we had ~10 stacks of cooked lamb chops in it).
To replace the daeodon, another megatherium with the same stats was bred.
Every person was also given a Calien Soup to help against the heat. One person was instructed to help lure the megatheriums to completely surround the Broodmother.
With the 19 megatheriums, 3 AR shooters, and 1 yuti (for courage roar), our tribe beat the Alpha Broodmother with 10 megatherium casualties.
What we could do better:
- Replace the ARs with journeyman/mastercraft shotguns because the ARs cost SO MUCH ammo (~1300 would probably be sufficient) and do not even do as much damage.

Use your fists and some dodos, be a man
Use megatheriums to kill the broodmother for when they kill any insect they get a buff that makes them op
Use megatheriums to fight the broodmother for they can get a buff from killing the spiders that makes then stronger against everything for a limited time
Have about 15 megatheriums and 1 u-t and if you want, some rexs would help. Once you get in boost your dinos with the u-t
You need some serios megatherium ( 25k hp, 650% dmg, and good saddle most likley 70 armour) a yuty with a lot of stamina and youre redy to kill some spiders
Use megatheriums because of there bug buff or spinos because of there hydration buff
Get a decent shotgun BP with like 200 dam at least, then get around 400 shotgun ammo per person if your doing 4 people. So if you're doing it solo get 1000 to 1500 ammo (this is for alpha so you'll need lots) there is a mushroom you can get on top of with a kangaroo or with grapples, just sit there and fire away.
for artifact of the clever, get a good level sabertooth and level health, dmg and stam. I just cleared the cave in about 5 mins with no troubles whatsoever! Good luck Survivor!
