While taming i recommend using third person because you can see the grasses moving and sometimes you'll be able to spot the transparency of the megaraptor, I got a level 15 one after just starting genesis 1 on the ocean biome, I got lucky and the level was low, but overall all you want is a good torch and to be vigilant
