“Senses lie sometimes, right?” A million thoughts jumbled up in panic and wrapped in fear bolted through his mind. His constant yearning for new experience gave him some skills to work with; however, these abilities had never been tested in the field. He saw something rustle and he fell back startled and unsettled. Crawling away and grabbing a stick something emerged, a medium sized fat bird. Confused and intrigued Stephen stepped forward and peered at the bird. It gave no reaction to any of Stephen’s attempts to gain its attention, it could care less if he was here. Making his way down the peninsula he noticed more fat birds and then he froze. One was on the ground and unmoving. What had killed it? It looked enough to crush him with one misstep, and reminded him of a rhino. However it looked focused on something else over on the other side of the small clearing, it seemed to be eating. After it was done something flew out of the bushes to the beast and it resumed its eating. If that thing could find something edible here so could he as he creeped around the clearing to the bushes.
