ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
So I did something I thought I would never do again, but this time I truly couldn’t resist,
First before I reveal what that something is I would like to say,
Years ago now when Ase still had updates and Ark 2 didn’t even have a trailer I think, or actually I’m pretty sure this was when it first was revealed to be released and everyone was hyped only now Ark 2 ever releasing is a mystery…
But that’s not the point, During those days , I basically had a beautiful Griffin named Cotton Candy, she as I liked to call her ( even though in ark griffins don’t have genders) was my favourite tame and favourite griffin ever because she was a perfect 150 or so from what I remember anyway, and her colours were mainly Pink, underneath yellow and the third colour being orange ,
Sadly she was lost due to ark deleting the whole save file ,,because back then Ase was really really glitchy, or glitchier I should say,
Cut to now, where I’m currently playing the game again and have a real nice thing going on Fjordur with a couple others , and just yesterday something I didn’t even know was possible happened, first I was just flying around looking for the Bee cave to go kill my first mini boss Beyla, using my fully imprinted Carcha, mind you no mutations first gen, 500% DMG after leveling to 293.
I know this ain’t the Beyla section but just to give you all an idea
Anyway on my Lightning wyvern when I flew past a mountain I saw a Bright pink griffin just slightly off from the corner of the screen, I thought hey cool!, Griffins spawn here too, and that’s a pretty Griffin won’t hurt to check the level,
So I turned around and saw it land, facing away from me , so I landed a bit away from it and saw it was a level 140 and I was like, oh I have to tame this,
Now that was untill I got off my wyvern and shot at it whilst it was still facing away ..that is untilll
As soon as I shot at it with, tranq arrows mind you, it turned around and that’s when I saw it!, This Griffin has the EXACT same colours as my old Griffin Cotton Candy did!! So I have to tame this, turned into I NEED to tame this Griffin!,
Because I loved Cotton Candy so much I even made a drawing of her back when I still had her , and I love Griffins in general,
Now back to the present, I was Tranqing this New Griffin that again, is an Exact copy of Cotton Candy my old Griffin, thought I was being smart running to my wyvern as it about hit me too many times, breaking my armour and hoping it would get stuck in my wyvern like another griffin did that I tamed once on the same map and play through, nope,
Managed to hit me more lol, so I then decided I would use my (Pro Griffin Taming Tactic, or just for any flyer really)
Which is flying further enough to reload and shoot from the back of my wyvern whilst in the air and quickly hopping back on if it gets too close. ( to do this you must have your wyvern on follow or it’ll land if close enough to ground.jd saying as it does work, if you came prepared…)
Because this time, I really didn’t, only because I wasn’t expecting to take a Griffin much less a level 140 Cotton Candy Clone, so that means I only had about nearly 70 tranq arrows using a Journeyman crossbow.
I thought I had enough as I kept shooting and a couple times mis calculated and got bit by the griffin a few times, before hopping back on my wyvern until the few last shots when it wasn’t even running yet were fired, and I didn’t even have a gun on me at the time or I would have used that to Tranq it..
But there I was, still on my wyvern after spending like 20 or more minutes tranqing this Griffin, that wasn’t just any Griffin or I would have never even consider doing what I did next, it was Cotton Candy, my Old Griffin that somehow found me again, ( I mean srs what are the odds of finding a Griffin with the same level and same colours as another lol?) mind you I have admin privileges, so I dotamed That Griffin and named her Cotton Candy.
And now she’s back at base and I ain’t dotaming again, as that Griffin was the only exception lmao, unless ark does ark.
Anyway I’m very very glad to basically have my old Griffin back!
