Island Chapter One : Bats and Blood

Welp. I’m pretty sure this isn’t a dream. I might be screwed.

My fist hit the tree with a crack, my hand protesting against the palm’s bark. After a few whops… I uh. I certainly did something. Good news: materials for a Materials Gorl! Bad news: It H U R T. Red spots sat spattered against the beaten bark. My hands shook and my eyes watered. I looked down to assess the damage. Bad News 2: The Awfulness: THEY WERENT MY HANDS!! I staggered back and tripped over something, forcing myself up into a dazed sit. My hands weren’t really…human. Four sharp, bloodied claws in the place of fingers, both arms lined with sand-caked silver fur, webbed wings attached. What I’d just tripped on was absolutely a tail, now that I’m looking at it. Looking at my face in the water was like staring at something between a silvery Maine cat and a bat. …Honestly, kinda cute. At least I might not have to worry about the cold with this fur…? Either way I was most definitely cursed or something.
