ARK Story: The Island

Chapter 1: A Mysterious Place

Astro rubbed his eyes as the sun scorched his face. The last thing he remembered was when he was at the park and then fell under something. Now, he was looking on a strange rhombus shaped implant on his wrist.

-What the heck? - he asked.

He stood up, looking for any signs of civilization. Instead he spotted a chicken-like creature clucking and looking at him.

Astro, since he was a kid, loved dinosaurs. When he grew up to 16 years old, he started his career as an archeologist. He knew almost every single species of the prehistoric planet.

Astro was able to identify the chicken as a Dodo.

-Impossible! - he murmured, trying to figure out how it appeared here. He looked at the prolongation of the beach and saw more Dodos.

But then he heard a strange sound coming from the bush. The bushes moved, and a strange figure appeared. Astro immediately recognised it as a Parasaurolophus or just a Parasaur. Astro was relieved that it was just a herbivore and it wouldn’t attack him, probably unless provoked.

He started walking across the beach, in hopes of finding a survivor, just like him, lost and confused. After a few minutes of walking, he saw a figure. He could see that the creature was a carnivore. The creature noticed him, and started running towards him. As it got closer, Astro realised it was an Utahraptor. He had read that these beasts were strong, aggressive and even smart. He knew he couldn’t outrun such a creature, so he grabbed a nearby Dodo and threw it into the Raptor’s mouth.

The Raptor stopped. It closed his mouth and ate the Dodo. Astro grabbed another one, and threw near the Raptor. The Raptor, this time, used its enlarged claw on the feet and sliced the Dodo.

After that, the Raptor became more calm. It didn’t try attacking Astro. Instead, it approached him, and looked at the ground.
