A lot of people should know this, but if your slow or just new, pay attention. You mainly find metal near water, therw is a difference between metal rocks and just rocks, metal rocks are more grayish and more shiny, if you don't see any, you might be able to see normal rocks under water, they drop metal but not the 20 something you would get from a metal rock, mainly search in rivers, NOT ON SHORES they don't spawn on shores, if you do see some they're the only ones there, usually they're near predators and carnivores so don't get in the water unless your willing to drop the soap for a piranha, also bring bolas there are usually raptors near them, and have a fast dino or a flyer, then are also near forests, the most I've found were in the south western rivers near the obelisks, hope this helped and don't drop the soap to the piranhas.
