Journey Through All Creatures
Chapter 25a: The Titanosaur War
Part 3/3: Journey Through All Creatures
“Triceratops, Triloblite, Trodon, Tusoteuthis, Wooly Rhino, Xiphactinus, and Yutyrannus. These are the final seven. We’re skipping Unicorn because of how rare that is. I doubt I’d find one today.” Sodden said. “Yeah, we don’t really have the time for Unicorn.” Serenity said. Their Argies and pteranodon soared above the Island, flapping their wings towards the western shore. The sun sat in the middle of the sky. It was past noon by now and Sodden’s time on the Island was coming to an end very fast. He had some creatures to kill then he was going to fight the bosses. Then the overseer would be last. Ascension was near.
5 hours before Ascension…
Sodden and his friends touched down onto the shore of the west, near the hunting area. They put their fliers in their cryopods. “Okay. So what?” Rod asked. “There should be Trikes somewhere here.” Sodden said as he started walking along the shore. “Okay.” Serenity said. The group looked around for anything, and Sodden saw a pair of Trikes just near the waterfall. “Hey, guys. Over here!” Sodden said as he pointed to the waterfall. The others looked to the waterfall and walked towards the Trikes. Sodden took out a shotgun, and aimed it at the Trikes. Then when he was about to shoot, something leaped out from behind the Trikes and started pecking its beak on Sodden’s armor. “Oh, what! Get this dodo off of me!” Sodden yelled. Serenity tried to pull the dodo off, but its claws were sinking deep into the armor and pinching his arm. Almost as if he had the strength of a human. The dodo screeched and Sodden tried to push it off, but it kept attacking Sodden. Rod then tried to shoot it with the shotgun, then the dodo ran in front of Sodden and started pecking on his legs. Sodden leaped out of the way, shouting as he tried to shoo off the Dodo. “What kind of Dodo is this?! Is it a human dodo or something?” Sodden yelled. Just die, you stupid Dodo!!” Serenity yelled. She took out a sword then hit the Dodo in its body, and it screeched in pain. Then it fell to the ground. “You killed a Dodo (Level 20)!” “Only Level 20? What the heck?” Sodden said. “Whatever. It’s over, so let’s just move on.” Sodden said. The others nodded then walked to the Trikes.
“Uh, Serenity, what did you mean by, “timeline”?” Sodden asked. “It’s a long story. And also very complicated. We live in a large multiverse, with many different universes and timelines. But whatever. Like that even matters.” Serenity said. “I learned a lot about it. But it’s not really what’s important right now.” Rod said. They sat next to the dead Trikes, eating some cooked meat. “You’re right. It’s cool, though. Well, we got some other creatures to do, so…” Sodden said. “Yeah.” Serenity said.
After 10 minutes of eating, they walked over to the hunting area, shot down some Trodons that roamed around the nearby jungle, then walked to the shore. Serenity threw a cryopod into the water and a Mosa came out. It had a platform saddle on it, so that Sodden and Rod could ride it too. Sodden put on some scuba gear, as did everyone else, and they got on the Mosa. Sodden got on the reins and led the Mosa down from the shore. It dived deep into the ocean and towards the ocean floor. When they got to the bottom, they looked around the rocks and ocean floor for the large squid. Sodden looked close to the icebergs on top of the ocean water and saw a squid swimming around the floor, attacking some dolphins. “We found him.” Rod said. “Let’s get it.” Sodden said. The Mosa swam above the Tuso and then dived down, with its mouth open. Then it closed its mouth on the Tuso’s body, just above its tentacles. It screeched then tried to grab the Mosa. The Mosa pushed the Tuso down towards the floor. Th Tuso hit the floor, then it lifted its tentacles and grabbed the Mosa’s tail. The trio held onto the edge of the saddle as the Mosa got thrown around then the Tuso looked at it. The tentacles held it in front of its mouth, and its mouth was trying to bite into the Mosa. Sodden took out a sword, and leaped off the Mosa and swam to the mouth of the Tuso. As it tried to bite him. Sodden threw the sword into his mouth. The Tuso screeched as it started hacking on it and coughed blood up. The blood poured out into the water and the Tuso started choking. Then it made noises. Then the tentacles released and it let out a large burst of ink from its mouth, then started floating upwards. They had done it. The Mosa swam back up to the surface and the trio got off near the Arctic shore. They put on their ascendant flak armor and put the Mosa in a cryopod, then Sodden ran to a Wooly Rhino walking along the shore. He took out a shotgun then shot it six times. It didn’t die yet. The shotgun was a Mastercraft, with around 400 damage per hit. The Rhino was heavily bloodied, and Sodden took out a spyglass to check its level. No surprise why it didn’t die. It was a 150!! “HOLY HECK! A 150 Rhino! Dude…” Sodden said as he ran back to the trio. They climbed onto a nearby rock, and the Rhino ran at the rock. It was at 200 HP out of 2600. It wasn’t gonna be enough to tame it. “Okay… we need to get it out of this place.” Sodden said. “But how? We don’t have Quetzals! How can we carry it out?” Serenity asked. “We can’t. We just have to trap it. We can use the Mosa to create a trap for it, then carry it to a safe place where it can heal and then we can tame it when it’s done.” Sodden said. “Yeah, here’s the thing. We won’t see it again for months after today.” Rod said. “That’s true. Let’s do this. Anyone have resources?” Sodden said. “I do have enough for three gateways but only one gate.” Serenity said. “I have some more thatch and stone.” Rod said. He gave Serenity a pile of thatch, then some stone. “I just need some more wood for the second gate.” Serenity said. The Rhino huffed then walked away. “No, wait! We’re sorry for doing that. I didn’t check the level and that was a mistake. We all know you should always check the level of any creature you kill before you kill it.” Sodden yelled as he jumped down. The Rhino looked back. “We’re going to get you somewhere safe then my buddies will come to help you.” Sodden said. The Rhino had a large wound on its side, and it was bleeding out quickly. Sodden ran at the Rhino and put some bandages on it to stabilize the wound. Rod ran at a tree, took out a hatchet, and started chopping the trees down. The noises of trees falling startled some creatures, but nothing too bad. Rod gave the wood he got to Serenity, then she made the gates and gateways. She then threw a cryopod out into the water and the Mosa came out. Serenity walked towards the platform and put down the trap. “This is the only way we can bring you back safely.” Sodden said. The Rhino limped towards the trap and Serenity opened the gates. The Mosa was set low in the water so that the platform was the right height for the Rhino to get on without touching the water. He got into the gates and fell on his left back. Sodden put another bandage on him then Serenity closed the gates. “Wow. Never kill a creature without checking the level.” Sodden said. “I agree.” Serenity said. “My friend once found a Rex. He just shot it down, yelling about how his shotgun is too weak, which it was not. It took so long because the Rex was a 150 female. He learned that the hard way.” Rod said. “He should’ve checked.” Sodden said. “Yeah, he should’ve.” Rod said. Sodden walked to another rhino nearby, which was a low level. He reloaded his shotgun and shot it down. Then he walked to the Mosa and got on the main saddle, and everyone else did too. Then they led the Mosa down south from the Arctic.
After a while, the group arrived to the shore that was just south of the rocky underpass with rocks overhead. They set down on the spot and ran off their Mosa. Then, some Argies arrived just then. Tedan and Cal were on two of them. “Hey, guys! I hear you have a max level Rhino.” Cal said. “I like Rhinos.” Tedan said. “Yeah. I accidentally injured it because I didn’t check the level at first.” Sodden said. “Red once didn’t check the level of a Theri he killed. He regretted it instantly.” Cal said. “Okay, okay, just… let’s do this.” Tedan said. He and Cal hopped off their Argies, then put them in some cryopods. They walked to the Mosa, got on the platform, and set up a small station. “Okay, we’re good to go.” Cal said. “It’ll only take 20 minutes with the taming food, but there’s no telling how long it’ll take to heal.” Rod said. “Let’s just get the rest of the creatures.” Sodden said. Serenity and Rod nodded, then the trio threw some cryopods at the ground, then their fliers came out. They got on and took off for the Arctic.
When they got to the snow, the trio landed their Argies just besides the shore and put them in some cryopods. They walked to the water and Sodden put on some scuba gear then swam down into the water. He looked around and saw two Xiphactinuses coming at him. He took out a spare sword then as the fishes were about to grab his legs, Sodden stabbed the sword through their bodies, and then slashed the sword through another’s jaw. Both screeched then started drifting up. Both were only Level 5, so it was easy. Sodden came out and put his flak armor on. Then the trio looked around and saw a Yuty, with a small group of Carnos, running down the hill and chasing an Ankylo. Sodden took out his shotgun then ran behind a rock close to the Yuty. The Carnos were pushing the Anky, and it screeched as it tried to run, but it was too slow and it was getting bloodied. The Yuty screeched and energized the Carnos, then it picked up the Anky. It swung its tail at the jaw, making it screech in pain and drop the Anky. But the Carnos had pinned down the Anky and its tail wasn’t doing much. Then the Anky, pinned down by three Carno’s mouths, bashed its tail across the ground and onto one of the Carno’s foot, and it screeched as it fell over. Then it swung its tail through two other Carnos, breaking their bodies and knocking them out quickly. The Anky was bloodied, but so was the carnos and Yuty. “Oh, my god. Dude… what level is that Anky?” Sodden whispered in shock. He took out his spyglass and saw that the Anky was a Level 145 with a whopping 41 points in melee. In other words, a god Anky. “What the heck!? No wonder it’s tanking so much damage!” Sodden yelled. “That’s one heck of an Anky.” Rod said, looking through his spyglass. Soon, the Carnos were down, but the Anky had gone down to 20% of its HP and the Yuty was injured too. Sodden waited for the Yuty to let out its roar, then when it screeched loudly again and the Anky started running, Sodden ran from the rock, followed the Yuty from behind, then took out his shotgun and shot the Yuty down. The Yuty collapsed from all its injuries and died just after. The Anky swam out of water then just started walking like nothing happened. “Dude… we should bring home that Anky.” Rod said. “Yeah. Well… that’s it. All The Island creatures gone. That means all that’s left is the bosses.” Sodden said. “Yeah. It’s crazy how far we’ve come.” Serenity said as she walked to Sodden. Both stood on top of the Yuty corpse, with blood on the tail and the body face down on the ground pouring out. They looked to the sky and the obelisks. “Well… should we go?” Serenity asked. “Before I ascend, I want to visit my old base one last time.” Sodden said. “That sounds good. Where it all began. Almost 4 months to the day the Journey Through All Creatures began.” Serenity said. “True.” Sodden said. Rod walked to them, and they held hands. Then they walked towards the fliers, got on them, and took off. Rod went down to pick up the Anky. The Argy grabbed the Anky’s tail and neck with its talons, then lifted it up, and it screeched. “Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.” Rod said. They set out for Nudon just then.
“Well… that’s it. The end of The Island journey.” Red said, sitting next to Sodden at the table in the base. “Yeah. So… what now?” Dorack asked. “We will bring 18 Rexes, one Yuty, and one Daedon. We’ll travel to the green obelisk very soon.” Red said. Sodden sat with Serenity and Rod, and some of the others. “Me, Paul, and some others will be riding the Rexes. Sodden will be on the Yuty. The rest will be with the Rexes.” Dorack said. “Well… it’s settled. We’re leaving soon.” Sodden said. “Yeah. Okay. Get the Rexes. They’re set out in the base. I have the Yuty and Daedon.” Red said. Everyone nodded and walked out of the base. Sodden went to Red, and Red gave him a cryopod. Sodden took it and walked out. The Rexes were put in cryopods, then they boarded the group of 20 Argies set out next to the drop off barn. “Okay. I have all the tributes and artifacts. Are we ready?” Red asked, sitting on the front Argy. Everyone nodded. “Okay, then. We’ve grinded for this very hard. And now… wait. Where’s Paul?” Red said, noticing that one of the Argies had no rider. Then a message popped up on Red’s implant. “Okay. Denine just woke up. Do your boss fight. I’ll stay and help her.” Red nodded and whistled as he said, “Let’s GO!” Red said. The Argies took off and flew to the Green Obelisk for the Broodmother Lyrisk.
