Sodden started to open his eyes on a bed, somewhere in his base. He got up and looked around. He had no items, he was back to Level 1, and he lost his XP so he couldn’t craft anything. He mumbled as he walked out of his room and down the stairs. “What the… what happened?” Sodden said. He felt tired and hurt, and couldn’t go very fast. He opened a box across the hall and took out some hide armor. He was going to put it on, then realized they were broken. He took supplies to repair, but then he got a message on his implant: “You must learn this engram to repair this item.” Sodden gasped and remembered what had happened. He was watching Rod argue with Terad, then Rod, along with Sodden, got picked off the Carcha and consumed by a wild Giga. “Oh, no. What level was he?” Sodden said. He looked through his tribe logs to find his death message, and he saw the level of the Giga on there. “Oh, no. That guy’s a really good level. I need to get there now. But… I’m gonna be one-shot to anything. Why did I have to go right back to Level 1?” Sodden said. He ran down the stairs and banged a table. “What do I even do?” Sodden said. Then he heard scratching outside the door. Sodden opened and saw his raptor. “Hey, dude. We need to get my levels back, fast. I cannot use anything inside. My Carcha is in danger.” Sodden said. The raptor screeched. Sodden got on and went to the breeding barn. He then opened the doors and whistled for all his grown raptors to follow. “I don’t have time to turn off breeding for you all. Please, I don’t want to be slowed by fertilized eggs. Let’s go! Food, saddles, let’s do this!” Sodden said. He took one saddle at a time since he was Level 1, so his stats were base level. He put the saddles on the raptors, then got on the pack leader and ran into the forest, with the army behind him.
After around an hour, the raptors saw the Giga mountain and ran as fast as they could. Sodden heard loud screeching and even quiet explosions. He wasn’t sure what it was. He collected explorer notes along the way, so he managed to reach Level 13 and put almost every level in weight so he could carry all his stuff. He rose from the forest and saw the Giga on the slope. He was screeching and trying to bite someone. Sodden went up and saw Terad running. Rod was shooting down the Giga, but it wasn’t doing much. Sodden saw his Carcha lying on the ground near the side and ran to him. The Carcha was badly bruised, there was blood coming out of his legs, and he only had 5% of his health left. “Oh, no.” Sodden said. He got off the raptor and ran to the legs. He looked around to find the cuts and ran away to find his bag. He found it a few minutes later, put it on, and ran down to the Carcha. It was bleeding to death. 800 HP left. Sodden put a small strip of gauze on the wounds then wrapped a bandage around it. He then went to take the saddle off to take weight off the Carcha. “I didn’t have a chance to give you a name,” Sodden said. The Carcha growled softly. “I know. That stupid Giga is going down.” Sodden said. He turned to his raptors. “Okay. I’ve bred many raptors, I’ve imprinted many raptors, I’ve grinded many caves, and I will not let this stop me. That Giga almost killed my Carcha and we’re going to get payback. Whatever happens, whoever lives, we do not stop fighting for the people and tames we love until we all fall! GO!” Sodden yelled. He then whistled attack on the Giga and all the raptors made a call to get the pack buff. Then they ran up the mountain.
Serenity was on the side of the mountain when he noticed Sodden comforting his injured Carcha. She ran to him and said, “Hey. How you doing?” “Terrible. My Carcha’s very hurt. It’s a miracle she survived this long.” Sodden said. “Yeah. I get that.” Serenity said. “I will not let them hurt Terad. He may hate Rod, but I know he can break free of his rage.” Sodden said. He put down some mats to soften the bruises and Serenity walked in the other direction. “Sodden, you may never truly understand what is going on between Rod and Terad until you know about what the Ravage really is.” Serenity said. “Don’t worry, buddy. It’s safe with me.” Sodden said as he hopped off and walked to her. “I guess. It was 4 months ago. We were getting ready for the Rockwell fight. We were doing the last breeding of our army. I asked this guy, who happened to be Rod, to get a Reaper on our team. But I know his tribemaster was evil. He wanted us dead. So… he sent a wild Reaper Queen into our base. Rod commanded him to break into the base. The tribemaster said Rod would be rewarded. Instead, he betrayed him and left him to be punished by Terad forever. The Reaper destroyed every tame we had and broke into our house. I just hope that Terad understands that one day, it was not Rod’s fault. His first tribe betrayed him. He never wanted to send in a Reaper to destroy our base. Terad managed to get the Reaper King out before dawn. But the internal injuries it caused… I’m lucky to be alive. 4 months ago, that would’ve been it. If you want to destroy the Assassin Heart, you have a long journey ahead of you. You have to ascend without Terad finding out, you would need to traverse all the Arks to get every creature killed, and you have to end at Extinction. That means we’d have to cut off on Aberration.” Serenity said. “What… what do you mean, “we?” Sodden asked. “This is not something you can do alone. There are many hearts that take the freedom of people, and they cannot be pursued solo. I would like to give you more details, but we’re in danger right now. Go help Terad. Rod should be here soon.” Serenity said. Sodden nodded and whistled for one of his raptors to come. The raptors were jumping on the Giga, ripping pieces off of it. But the Giga kept throwing raptors away. Sodden got on one of the raptors and ran over the mountain. He saw the Giga stomping towards Terad. He was shooting it down with his assault rifle, but it wasn’t doing much even though it was 398% damage. Terad backed up, trying to get it to go down, but it closed in faster and he yelped and tripped over a rock. The Giga opened his mouth to get Terad, then a arrow whizzed through the air and hit his head. The Giga looked up and saw the raptors coming at him, along with Rod’s Carcha. “I would’ve loved to tame you. But now, I can’t. I don’t tame creatures that hurt my friends!” Sodden yelled as he kept shooting arrows. The Giga screeched and ran at the raptors. The raptors leaped at his back and the Carcha hit him on the neck. The Giga fell over and the raptors kept biting him. Sodden ran to Terad and picked him up. He saw Rod come over. “Hey. Please tell me you’re not in another senseless rage.” Rod said. “I guess I was looking at the bad side of you all the time and never thought about the good side.” Terad said. “Yeah. If it wasn’t for us, today would’ve been very different.” Sodden said. “Anyway, sorry about your levels.” Terad said. “It’s okay. We didn’t have that much.” Sodden said. “We are not going to let anyone in your tribe die.” Rod said. “Good. I bet she already told you.” Terad said. Sodden nodded and then gasped. “Guys. What about Grease?” He said. Terad gasped. “Oh, god. What have I done? We need to get there now.” He said. Rod whistled for his Carcha to come then climbed on, along with Terad and Sodden. Serenity and her Giga came over and they all went to the base.
Within half an hour, they arrived to the mountain slope on Far’s Peak. They saw a lot of people dragging the fallen creatures away from the grounds up to their base. They spent hours helping the creatures, stopping their wounds from getting worse, and trying to move them. Terad hopped off and ran to the people moving a mutated, reddish black Giga with orange on his head. That was Terad’s Giga, Grease. “Guys. Is he okay?” Terad asked. Someone looked up and saw Terad. “Well, he’s stable, but still unconscious. It’s taken us over 4 hours to get this done.” The person said. “Oh, my god. Rod…” Sodden said. “It was an accident. My Titan just wouldn’t stop.” Rod said from behind. “You’re good, dude. Now go help my friends.” Terad said as he patted Rod’s shoulder. He smiled then ran to the group to pull the Giga closer to the base. “Well, I’ve got plenty things to do, like getting my levels back. So I will see you all later.” Sodden said. He turned around to get his raptors, then Serenity stopped him. “Hold on. You do understand what you’re getting yourself into?” She said. Sodden turned around and said, “Yes, I do.” “I’d recommend getting the attention of other tribes to help you.” Serenity said. Sodden was about to say something else when Terad called for Serenity to come. She ran after Terad, looking back at Sodden. He then nodded and hopped on his raptors to go to his Carcha and get levels. Sodden couldn’t help but think: ‘Will I really destroy the Assassin Heart? And what about the risks that come with it? I’d have to keep it away from Terad, but I don’t want to break his trust. You know what? I’ll think of a plan later.’ He traveled to the Giga mountain to pick up his Carcha as the sun began to dip below the horizon.
That’s it for the first ten chapters. Section I, Part II begins soon.
