ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Journey: Chapter 29
As they started their journey, Forest told Methuselah their whole story. Crimson though added on that it really didn’t feel like they did a whole lot of saving their home Ark before Forest continued on. Methuselah seemed really intrigued by this. Almost unusually intrigued, but not surprised or shock at this. Something that made Forest surprised, and especially he wondered where they were going. Methuselah never said where he was going to take him. He decided to interrupt and ask where they were going.
“Sorry to interrupt your conversation Forest, but I was wondering where we are going Methuselah?” Forest asked.
“We are heading towards the World’s Scar. A treacherous place to get and a dangerous place for those who are enemies of the creatures that call it home. However I’m friends with them and I think I know someone who might be able to help you out of here. And she lives there.” Methuselah said. They rode Methuselah for an hour more, Nightfall had many questions about this place and what it was like living in the endless dunes. Even though he knew about this Ark the most of the three of them. He still wanted to learn more about it. And Methuselah was more than happy to oblige. Crimson would butt in and make a sarcastic comment about something and make Methuselah laugh while Nightfall would get discombobulated or just annoyed.
Forest stayed fairly quiet for this part as he mainly listened to the conversation and looked out over the desert. It was beautiful, something that he couldn’t quite imagine seeing. A place of sand and rock, a place of death and heat. Yet, its beauty was breathtaking. Forest watched the surroundings of the desert as he rode on Methuselah. Forest then noticed some sand bursting from the ground behind them from a fair distance away from them, nothing came out but sand that continued to burst from the ground and followed them, slowly gaining.
“Hey, what’s that behind us Methuselah?!” Forest asked turning to Methuselah for the answer.
Methuselah turned his head to see what Forest was talking about. When he did, his eyes widened. But he stayed calm about it.
“Everyone. On the count of three, I want you all to jump off and run as far as you can away from here. I will find you later, but this is going to get messy and I don’t want you all anywhere near to get in the crossfire.” Methuselah said. “You don’t have to tell me twice!!” Crimson said.
“1!” Methuselah started counting down.
“But what’s going to happen to you! We need your help for this part of our journey!!” Forest yelled, “Forest, he’ll be fine. Just get ready to jump!!” Crimson yelled back.
“2!!” Methuselah said, “Well, I don’t know about you two. But I’m jumping!!” Nightfall squalled out as he jumped early.
“3!!!” Methuselah yelled. Forest watched Crimson jump, Forest sat there for a moment, he panicked for a moment and then.
Forest jumped. He landed with a sinking impact into the sand of the dunes. They both began to run away, but after a few seconds Forest stopped and turned to look at Methuselah. They couldn’t . Crimson turned and tried to grab him, but she stopped in her tracks when he saw what was happening.
Rising out of the sand, a creature that was some sort of giant insect/worm/thing Forest thought to himself that this was one of the largest creatures he had ever seen. Methuselah was turning to fight the worm, and it become the clash of titans. Forest quickly realized, that he and Crimson were definitely not far enough away from this fight.
