Journey: Chapter 26

Forest sat as the sun rose over the desert land. He wondered what his dream meant.

Was it a warning or was it a calling or was it not a dream. Was it something that the rune was holding that would explain why he was sent to where he was and why Crimson was sent here. He thought about what Peeri said, Find Methuselah. He wondered if he had to meet someone on the other side of the obelisk like he did with Nightfall.

“Hey, how long have you been up?”Crimson asked.

“Oh he’s been up for about two hours.” Nightfall said walking up to them.

“Thanks Nightfall, but I didn’t need an answer.” Forest said. “Well I found where we’re at. We are pretty close to the green obelisk, so we if we start going now. We should be there by mid morning.” Nightfall said.

“Well what are we doing sitting here for them, let’s get moving!” Crimson said.

The three ran off with Nightfall leading the way, it took them less time than Nightfall said it would, they were their before most animals were awake.

“Okay, we’re here, now what do we do Forest?” Crimson asked, “The same thing Rust did, just not as hard. Let’s hope it works!” Forest said.

Crimson looked over with eyes bulging after hearing that. Forest raised the rune over his head and heard it humming, but something was wrong with it. The Rune was glowing but not anything more than it had last night, Forest hesitated and then he smashed it into the terminal. Nothing but a strange noise, he did it again, and the same thing happened.

“Well why is it doing that, does it do this before we go somewhere?” Crimson said confused.

“No, something’s wrong, we’re in the right spot. But it’s not working for us for some reason.” Forest said.

“Are we missing something here?” Crimson asked, “Missing what? Forest has everything we came through with except meat and kibble. In fact he took too much, taking me along for this crazy ride and all.” Nightfall said. Making Forest remember something.

“Wait, maybe we are missing something, or maybe someone!!” Forest said excitedly, “What do mean?” Nightfall said.

“I don’t know myself, but I think we have to look for someone who will help us find someone else.” Forest said.

“Are you sure it not indigestion, because if it is and we do this. We are going to waste a lot of time for nothing but endangering us more.” Nightfall said critically. Forest scowled over at him, “Yes I am sure it’s not indigestion.” Forest said.

“Well if you think so, than I am in to find whoever we’re looking for!” Crimson said, “You two are nuts, but what the heck. I’m in, I don’t got to much to live for anyway and besides. I’ve been loving this crazy train of an adventure so far!!” Nightfall said.
