Chapter 45 ~breaking free~
Part 2/2 ok.. may have left this on a worse cliffhanger…
“Well, your big friend could do it, but I don’t know how he’d feel about biting his friends arm off..” Stainly said. “Yea, I don’t want that either..” Caesar said. “Perhaps..” Stainly said deep in thought. “What?” Caesar asked. “The mantises, they are known for having the sharpest blades on Hades.” Stainly explained, “they were, uneasy allies of the human tribes. They learned how to forge and fight from watching us and for some reason never attacked us.” He said. “Ok let’s go.” Caesar said, “Lagoon, can you find the mantises instead?” Caesar asked. “No need, there some right there at the oasis’s entrance.” She said.
They landed in front of the oasis and they all climbed down a rope bridge Stainly has to get off Lagoon. “Hey, are you the mantises.” Caesar said even though he knew they were. “Yes, what is it.” One asked. “I need you to cut off my arm.” Caesar said. The request shocked the mantis. “Wha- why…” it asked. “I’ve gotta get rid of this thing on my arm.” Caesar said. “Hmm. Well, I can do it. For a price..” the mantis said. (they were mercenaries) “What price?!” Caesar asked. “Trust me bro, this guy won’t pay you..” Lagoon said. “How about I’ll let you live..” Bones said, he had just walked up and heard a bit of the conversation. “Ok ok! Fine! We’ll do it, jeez!” The cowardly mercenary said. “Bones? Your not even gonna question me wanting to chop off my arm..” Caesar asked (because everyone else urged him not to earlier.) “no, I’ve felt that weird tek stuff before, I understand.” Bones said. “Alright, well.. let’s do it.”
Caesar layed down on the doctors exclamation table, with the mantis, Stainly, Jaxz, and the chief standing around him, and everyone else was looking in through windows. Caesar didn’t like the attention. “Ok I’m gonna give you the narcotics now.” Stainly said. He gave Caesar a bowl filled with a green paste, it stunk like rotten meat. He drank it and fell asleep. “Ok, do it.” The mantis lined up his schemitar. Then lifted up his arm, and swiped down. It was done, Caesar was free of the implant and everyone sighed in relief. Then he started to cease. Caesar foamed at the mouth and had a seizure, then it stopped. Everyone panicked except the mantis, he didn’t care. Bones’s eyes widened in horror, Stainly checked for a pulse but there wasn’t one. He started CPR, but it was no use. Caesar was dead.
