ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion

The Story of Baron…

It was a dark night on the shores of Ark Mobile. This was my first time playing Ark seriously in a while. I had little to my name, a triad of Dilos and a Parasaur at most. I decided to go exploring, I had nothing else to do. That’s when I found her. Across a forest on the shore of a river was a pristine level 80 Baryonyx. I quickly bola her (bolas work on Barys in Mobile,) and tranq her out. I feed her, but one raw fish meat only does one percent. This does not stop me, as I retrieve my soothing balm from my small thatch shack. I feed her the balm and before long, she is mine. I named her Baron, a strong name. At the time, I was living in the Footpaw, around South Zone 1. I eventually move to a rocky cliff near the Red Obelisk, a place I call Sarco Falls, due to the waterfalls and the abundance of Sarcosuchus. I was too low a level for a saddle for Baron. While living at this location, Baron gained two new friends: A green Sarco named Starch and a red Raptor named Mako. These two and Baron formed my team of ARK warriors. One night, I move into the swamp to find a new base location in the redwoods. In the swamp we gain two more members of our team, Thunder the Paraceratherium and Crowbar the Beelzebufo. They accompany me as I make my way to the redwoods, and keep me safe as I establish a base near a lake. For a while, Baron stayed at home. She didn’t see much action until I unlocked her saddle. I brought her to the cave where the Artifact of the Hunter laid, as she was the only strong dino I had that I bring into a cave. I had not planned on using her for long, but once I saw how strong and bulky she was, I knew I’d use her for a while. Baron was adept at gathering chitin, and since I had not yet unlocked flak, chitin was the best armor I had. Baron and I ran that cave many times. One day, Baron and I swam over to Craggs Island. We were looking for a Therizinosaurus, and this island was the perfect location to trap one. But it went downhill quickly. I needed some bio toxin to keep the Therizinosaurus asleep once I tranquilized it, so we swam out to gather some. We found a pack of Cnidaria and attacked. But we were soon overwhelmed. Baron was stunned and I was kicked off of her back. While we attacked the Cnidaria, megalodons attacked us as well. I was near death so I resurfaced to the shore, providing support with my crossbow. But it was no use. Once all of them were dead, I could not find Baron. But I did find her item cache. She was dead, and it was my fault. I logged off ark for the night after that…

After a few weeks, I came back to ark. When I got on…I heard a Baryonyx growl? And there she was. Standing in front of me. I hadn’t saved! She was alive. Me and Baron rule the ARK, and forever will.
