“Not perfectly,” Bone offered in response, trying to hide his unease as he looked around at the twisted, dead forest around him. “Could’ve used an asylum or two. Maybe a therapist.” Rage laughed scornfully, but his eyes were all malice. Lurching forward he lashed out, causing Bone to stagger back with a wince as claws struck the side of his face.

“Let’s try this again,” he hissed, voice breathy, as he stalked over and leaned over Bone, his violent blue eyes barely an inch from Bone’s. “Because we both know that if you don’t cooperate, I will kill you, and then find my way into the Forever Grounds. And I have a list of wolves that you care about there… some of which are spelled Outlander.”
