Chapter 10
Previous chapter in reaper, questions and comments in red dye.
Zaknar, Taylornin, Leonaj, Anniel;
The Four Demons of The Monarch. Some of the most powerful beings in Jihan, second only to The Monarch. Controlling their Demons are difficult and require tremendous Will Power, Any break in Will Power allows the demons to take full control of their bodies. Properly controlling their Demons let's them use their full strength, and changing them to a unique form. This form grants special powers, people in this form are completely black except for their feet and eyes, they become that person's demon color. People in this form have wings and horns that are pitch black outlined in their demon color. This technique is called Demonic Emulation and is highly frowned upon.
The Four Demons concentrated their Will Power, Using Demonic Emulation, each becoming the form described above. Zaknar released his Red Demon, uniquely his hands also became red. Taylornin released her Blue Demon, her unique trait was blue hair. Leonaj released his Green Demon, his unique trait was completely green arms. Anniel released her Yellow Demon, uniquely her mouth was visible, completely yellow. Each drawing their weapons, they stood before The Monarch.
"Have my prized soldiers come home? I guess not." The Monarch said. Zaknar and Leonaj jumped at The Monarch, Zak, slashing at The Monarch's chest, dealt a shallow cut along his heart, Leonaj, aiming with his daggers for his neck, missed. The Monarch used magic to throw them against the wall of his circular throne room, near the door. Taylornin and Anniel fired repeatedly at The Monarch dealing light damage.
Hours and Hours the battle went, narrow misses magic used liberally by The Monarch, Arrows and bullets flying like rain at The Monarch who conjured familiars, golems, summoned beings from other realms and reanimated swordsmen, archers and formed lich's. Near the end of a full day of fighting Zaknar dodged an arcane sword slice, ducked under magic arrows and narrowly dodged lightning bolts and got up close to The Monarch. Unintentionally leaving himself open Zaknar received a sword through the heart. The Monarch, holding the sword smiled. Zak, sliding along the swords blade, got close enough. An arc of light flashed through the air and The Monarch's head fell to the ground.
Time seemed to slow, the creatures around them froze and disappeared. The sword in Zaknar vanished and he fell, lying in a pool of blood. The castle of The Monarch was crumbling, fast. So the remaining Demons had to leave Zaknar behind.
Well then, reader, have a good morning, day, or night.
