Hmmm....

1. Bone has to help another wolf in the pack Outlander joins with the gift, and Outlander has to help?

2. Bone kidnaps one of the coyotes from Outlander's pack (likely Scavenger since she's closest to Outlander) and Outlander goes searching for her, gives up after years and picks up Bone's trail again much later after she's a wolf pack member.

3. Bone needs a wolf as a sacrifice (or something, I don't know much about what Bone does) and the wolf alpha chooses Outlander because she's expendable, but Bone doesn't realize she's not a pure wolf.

We can either make them allies or enemies. I kind of like the idea of enemies more, since there isn't a good reason I can think of Bone would work with a half coyote. #2 makes the most sense to me, since its likely Bone would take and kill one of the coyotes during one of his "moments of rage." We could even have yhem be enemies that band together at some point to stop some "greater evil."

I don't know. Let me know if you have any other ideas?
