I think I’m ready to start it now! I’ll use the character who’s later introduced in A Lone Howl. (This means I have to describe him, SIGHHHHHH.)

His name is Bone. (Go figure!) He’s a very old wolf. Very, very old. Centuries, maybe. And he’s dead.

Yup, he's dead, technically. He’s a critical part in the advancement of the pack in A Lone Howl, assisting those rare enough to be given The Gift (haha, that’s as much as you get to know about The Gift right now! No surprises for youuuu).

His appearance:

He’s basically a walking wolf skeleton. In some places (over most of his head, ears, tail, flanks, lower forelegs, etc.), he has skin and fur remaining, but the rest is washed-out bone. His eyes are oddly intact, despite not having a brain (or any organs, for that matter) to connect to them. His eyes are pale blue, but that’s an unimportant detail. His teeth are longer and sharper than most present-day wolves, and his neck is longer, better built for old terrain where the pack used to live in his time.

Oh, and when he doesn’t have a mission (assisting a wolf who has The Gift), he’s basically a cold-blooded monster. He’s very dangerous in fights, and basically just goes on kill streaks; that’s what having no mind will do for you, ha, ha.

So I was thinking, maybe the coyote pack that your character is from could have a sort of myth about him? Like a, “Beware, the bone wolf monster will rip off your face and eat your hair, yadayadayada, scary, be afraid, don’t leave your tail out at night” sort of thing. (I expect the myth to be exactly like what I just said.)
