Northern coast of the island is the best place I have found for them to spawn and tame them. Rafts are particularly useful. Over the water is the best place to tame since there are very few predators and they will be forced to land on your raft. Passive tame. Do not move toward them while they display hearts or while they are landing and walking to you. Backing up is ok. Walking to them will cause them to flee and loose taming effectiveness. Also, very important, do not crowd them. If they are almost ready to come to you for a feeding, and you approach them too quickly, they will go very far away. Up to 200m. Between 20-30m and they will be encouraged to feed often. I tamed a lvl 135 which took about 10 feeds in under 7 minutes. The raft seems to make it easier to follow them, since they are tiny and can be lost in the jungle canopy or attacked by dilos, compies or raptors when landing to feed from you. Lastly, it does not seem to affect their behavior if you already have a tamed one on your back. Other tamed species will spook them and cause them to avoid landing, which can make taming take forever.
