“Hi buddy,” said the smiling one “What are you doing on my mom’s controller?” Oh no, I thought, he suspects me.

“Nothing, Gavin,” said John, “he’s curious.”

Being the only one that doesn’t underestimate our intelligence, Gavin looked at me funny, turned on the T.V and Xbox, synced his controller, and sat down next to me. He and John both turned on the same game, Dauntless, just as a voice called from upstairs “John, I’m home!”

Immediately, I heard three sounds, muffled whining, the pitter-patter of tiny nails on the floor, and loud barking. This of course, was Audrey. The other one shouting was Nancy. She was Audrey’s favorite owner. Not one return was quiet. I ran upstairs, hopped on the couch, and looked up at her. She bent down a little, and scratched my head.
