The Arctic (look in Bloodstalker stories for The Bog, names are pronounced Tall-fag and Gall-ah-han, and Asst-rim)
Chapter 5
I swiftly brought Vine back to base, laughing as she crushed the trees with no effort. The ponds splashed under her enormous size and weight.
Once we got there, I went inside the small house I call a home, and cooked some meat while trying to find the platform saddle for Vine.
"Aha!" I whispered as I found the box it was kept in.
I brought it to her knees and used Tarantula's silk to throw it over. Once on, I whistled for Tarantula, Vine and Bog to come to me. I looked at HLN-A. "Teleport me to the Arctic Biome," I said. "Sure thing! Get ready to teleport!" She replied.
A translucent white dome formed around me, made of hexagons, and it reached to cover the top. I felt a tingling sensation as it did, and then like my guts dropped. It was weird.
I materialised in the Arctic biome, and put a newly made Apprentice saddle on Bog. I hopped on him and whistled for the others to stay on high alert here.
Scouting for a base site, I spotted a triangular shape in the foot of a giant mountain.
It was made of wood, with a glass greenhouse next to it and a chimney with smoke coming in plumes out of it.
Was it.. Another survivor!
Bog bounded over with me on his back, just as excited. I spotted a man working in the greenhouse, planting seeds.
"Hello there!" I called. The man jerked up and glanced warily at Bog, then me.
"Who are you? Talphag, we got a new kid," he called to the wood house.
"Who are YOU?" I insisted.
Just then, a pale woman with bright orange wavy hair stormed angrily out of the house. "Whut is it now, Gala-" she spotted me. "Oh," she said, "excuse me, who are you?"
I had never had a name for myself. I'll call myself.. Hm. "Seasnake.. I'm Seasnake. And you?"
"I'm Talphag," the woman said, "and thut's Galahan." Gesturing to the darker tan colored black-haired man with a long beard.
"Whut's someone doin' out here all alone?" Talphag said, her accent I just now noticed.
"I'm not alone! I have tames!" I informed, pointing down at Bog, who looked slightly amused.
"Tames, she says!" Galahan laughed with a rough voice. "You mean the monsters that killed our son? Those will always be not-allowed here! Unless it's Astrim." He called for a bright orange dodo to walk outside.
"I'm so sorry," I said, faking eyes full of sorrow. I didn't know how to help or act.
"Well," I said, "I'll see you later. Time to look for a base site."
