ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion

So here is a story, I spent hour preparing and looking for one and I found a decent leveled female queztal to make egg for kibble, but it fell into the water at the swamp when I knocked it out. I was very mad that hours of work was lost in a couple of seconds. I would revive it if I found its implant however the dilo ate it. Would making a trap be a good way to tame it after reviving it.
