Find a lot of rare flowers in beaver dams and use them to tame lystrosaurus, then use their eggs to get diplodocus. Use diplodocus eggs to get allosaurus. These dinos are a great way to move up fast on PvP servers by getting a lot of allosaurus
No need to knock out as it is a passive tame. Berries is best if a player does not have Rare Flowers. Easy tame, however, annoying because it will continue to walk around. Trapping it in a small area would best make it an easier tame and less wandering.
Once tamed, petting the Lystro will give experience boost to any dinos as well as players that are in its radius. I believe it lasts 5 minutes. So, when crafting a bunch of items, pet these little dogs.

While the Lystrosaurus will not fight, it can be useful to have around — or as a companion on short hunting trips — as it increases experience of nearby creatures and survivors. The Lystrosaurus must be tamed passively, making it very easy to acquire by any survivor with a handful of Rare Flowers.
