ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies
When not having this guy yet and you hop on your mosa, there’s a high chance they’ll suddenly spawn a couple yards away from you. What’s scary is that this guy, although should stay only on the Deep Ocean region is able to cross the barrier (on mobile at least, I do not know for the others) and is as fast as an encumbered(not red, not really encumbered, as in not even over 90% encumbered) mosasaurus. Wherein in mobile, the plesiosaurs are the fastest(it seems) with mosas second and this guy. Not even a speed-trained icthy will be able to outrun it. All are as fast or even faster than the giga on land. Scary if you have no plan to tame it. Can grab mosas, nearly every creature except the basilosaurus and some others. Don’t escape up, escape linearly from where you came from. Let it get stuck between every rock you know. I encountered my first tuso a few days ago. Traumatized by the speed, good thing’s I’m on my mosa and ran away. It is way, way bigger than a damn mosa. Seriously scary.
More Tusoteuthis Encountering Tips
They are easier to find while riding a raft, having a monkey on your shoulder, and having a beard. It is recommended to have a big raft that looks like a pirate ship. The ship must have cannons.

I found two liopluros on mobile before I found one of these dudes
Tuso on mobile are very rare. The only way to find them consistently is by playing brutal as difficulty and level contribute to spawns. If playing anything other than brutal, you should use tidy saves in single player. Tidy saves kill all Dinos outside of your tamed ones and those in your general area.
Because the Mosa cannot be grabbed on mobile, I recommend to just tame them instead as it is easier to get a ascendant saddle for them (Snow cave drop) and because they are much more common on medium/hard. They might take longer to tame but generally they are better.
If you cannot find a tuso, it is not because you aren’t looking hard enough, in fact, the ocean giants load in far before anything else. It is because the tuso refuses to spawn due to it being low on the spawn priority list.
P.S When you make a single player world for the first time, there is a set amount of tusos on the initial world gen.
Easy: Chance of 1 tuso spawning, guaranteed after surpassing level 80.
Medium: 2 spawn initially and a increased chance after surpassing level 85
Hard: 3 spawn initially and a chance of up to 2 more after surpassing 85
Brutal: 4 spawn initially and level doesn’t matter.
If you have spent a really long time looking for one then it could possibly be because there are to many wild dinos in your world which means you need to go on a huge killing spree to open up some spots for the Tuso or any other Dino you can’t find to be able to spawn

This noodle monster destroyed my lvl 46 itchy in under 5 seconds and didn’t even let me get its stuff back. After trying to kill it in my rage it decides to run when it’s health gets low. Now I kill any tuso I find for revenge.

When the tusoteuthis grabs you you can avoid its attacks by firing an arrow at its beak during the attack
When Ark says that the unicorn is the rarest creature. That’s a lie. At least the unicorn spawns. This thing is supposed to. I have spent the last week living in a pearl cave in their spawn hotspot and have not seen evidence of a single one. Reply to me @Tofuna
People say he's rare and they are damn right
When you see one of these, be ready to die.
