Tips & Strategies
There is an option near the tranqs to switch to an x mosa. The new updates on here are freaking amazing, so don’t forget to utilize that for x mosa/any x creature taming :3
Close you eyes and count to ten, or swim upwards
On ASA, just tamed one, lvl 150, on a boosted server, maybe 3x. I took 4 behemoths gates, I placed them like a cage under a cliff on the bottom of the sea, so the top part is covered by the cliff. I lured the Mossa inside the cage with my Basi and trapped it, then via a small gap I shot it with the ascended crossbow (400% damage) 50 - 60 Tranq arrows, feed it with at least 7 Extraordinary Kibble and 200 Narcotics to be sure it will not wake up before.
Pro:
It's very fast in the water, I want to race it against the dolphin, it might be faster.
Good at collecting meat, gel, biotoxin, hide etc.
Cons:
Can't reach too close to the shore because it's getting beached.
The turning radius is horrible, if something is attacking you from behind it's very difficult to turn around and do some damage back.
It's loosing health faster than Basi
alpha mosa is more common than regular mosa lol
Underwater caves are very helpful for knocking these guys out. Always bring extra tranqs as this thing is basically the giga of the sea and torpor drops very fast.
Hi,
I have actually killed a level 20 alpha mosa, starting the fight at mid-health, without having scuba gear and only with the help of an ichtyosaur.
So basically, some few facts you need to know about mosas in general is that they have a really wide turning circle, meaning it is very hard for them to do a 180° turn. Also, I think you all know this but they all stay in the depths, they can’t go any higher than a certain depth. Alpha mosas actually regenerate their health quite slowly.
It wasn’t actually that hard: I just needed to constantly hit it on its back with my ichtyosaur. When it will try to bite you, it will have to do a 180° turn, so it won’t be able to fight I back as long as you’re hitting it on its back. Whatever happens, try to stay away from its mouth: you can easily outrun it because ichtyosaurs are really fast so be careful because you might come too close from the mouth. It surprisingly doesn’t do as much health as I thought it would do, but don’t underestimate this fishy boi’s jaws power. If you do everything correctly, you should take all the 60k hp in around 10 mins.
If you’re not a high level player like me, playing in solo, and so you don’t have scuba equipment, don’t forget to breathe: it may seem obvious but drowning is actually the thing that dealt me the most damage, and I actually had to use backups around 3 times.
Also be careful of the night: it is actually hard to see where is it’s head and where is its tail during nighttime so don’t be dumb like me and don’t accidentally stumble on its jaws. By the way it’s freezing cold in the depths during the night so don’t die of hypothermia.
I was playing on mobile, so nothing actually attacks ichtyosaurs, so the only thing that will try to kill you is the alpha mosa.
The most important thing is to stay concentrated on both your oxygen bar and the position of its head.
Well, this is how I actually defeated my first alpha mosa, I hope this was useful ^^
Imagine like being the ultimate underwater apex predator and a weird looking fish riding a dolphin swims towards you and bites you for 10 minutes straight until you die
Wouldn’t recommend going near this thing
(FOR ARK MOBILE PLAYERS) For my expierence i mostly encounter quite a lot of tuso, leed and many many megs, haven’t encounter a single one of that alpha, but when i encounter a mosa, it usually are an alpha, so i don’t thing tuso, meg and leed alpha exist in ark mobile
i hope this help you for ark mobile players, have a great play
I have searched the ocean and these things are rare than a leed, plesio, meg, basilo, ammonite, eurtipid, and liopleurlodon💀💀
How to get a high quality mosa saddle/mosa platform saddle on mobile:
Head into the yeti cave (tame one of the wolves in the cave to do this). In one of the big rooms there are multiple snow covered platforms. On one of the platforms is a red cave drop, and the loot of this drop includes mosa saddles and mosa platform saddles. I ran the cave ~100 times and I got 4 mosa platform saddles (1 journeyman 3 ascendent) and 2 mastercraft mosa saddles but I don’t even have a mosa lol.
If u find an alpha mosa u can kill it for black pearls
A massive marine meat grinder that will eat you and your ride and screw your whole life, sounds fun to tame.
I was trying to find one (The Island, I'm in Mobile) and I suddenly got in a part where there was a dunkleosteus, a leedsichthys an alpha mosa and a normal mosa all together. I tried to tame the normal one but his torpor was resetting EXTREMELY FASTTT. Obviously I surrendered lol.
I easily kill them with my sarco and spino as you can out maneuver them. I can only seem to find low levels and some times with packs of anglers and pleassys. Watch out for an alpha mosa though
Get 250 tranq arrow and 3 crossbow I recommend using Lazarus chowder too. Go deep down with any aquatic mount except for basilo because it takes damage in deep area in ocean. Next find a mosa recommend taming low level it is faster to tame. Next when you find a mosa shoot it with tranq arrow it will take maybe 126 shots on mosa. When it's knocked out maintaine its torpor with bio toxin or narc. The kibble for mosa is the extordanary kibble. The egg are extra large egg for the extordanary kibble. Also cooked prime meat can go effectively to 6%. However Raw meat will take half as long. You would need 450 narc for the mosasaur. Put the food of your choice and narc or bio toxin in it inventory. Maintaine it's torpor so it doesn't wake up until its tamed. If this was helpful please like on it. The ability of the mosasaur is a powerful bite. The fact about the mosa is its bite is more powerful than the rex. Their saddle can be learned a level 78 and crafted in Smith with hide fiber and metal ingots. That's all I got for today thank you for reading and have your self a very amazing day!
Torpor Drain rate is Extremely high.
be careful
