These creatures cant apparently be picked up by anything, can't be affected by bolas , and they can only fit through dinosaur gates so i expect that they might be quite big. They can also βsenseβ prey / dinos that is injured for you (if tamed.) If its a wild Fjordhawk and you are quite injured, it will attack you if it think it will be able to kill you, unless you have strong armour. They will also eat /scavenge Injured or Dead dinos. They also will retrieve your items when you die, not all of your items tho. But it will retrieve as much as it can carry (when tamed.) I hope this helped you understand better about the Fjordhawk before its released. :)
More Fjordhawk Utility Tips
Use beds as TPs for your stuff. When you fast travel having the hawk on your shoulders it brings your stuff for you. Tested a few times.
First one to do this!
It can retrieve your items when you die.
It has UNLIMITED weight, so Black box yourself with metal or any other resource, eat a piece of poly or fast travel with a sleeping bag, spawn back at base and you are done.
Hands down, the best shoulder pet if you're the type to run into danger with no plan...leeeeeeroyyy jenkinssss style!
Had a plan, deep dive for oil with my hawk pet and "Flipper" (set to passive and not following, smart right?)...that's it, that's all the planning...got electrocuted on the first run. Crap.... recovered corpse and found my hawk, flipper isn't dead but zero clue where it went....jumped on my frog, "Frogette' for a rescue and tried again...yep, that's right fried again. Now I'm 2 water tames down and hawk is gone.....was able to rescue the beast frog and my 2nd corps but no loot.....no hawk in site. Ran to base and "lil bird" (yeah, I'm not a creative namer) was chilling next to the bed with my bag of loot.....best shoulder pet, otter is good, but hawk will bring back your stuff!!
Use them to steal wyvern eggs.
Just grab an egg with a hawk on your shoulder, die to a wyvern and it will bring your stuff (with the egg) back to you!
They make getting Wyvern eggs the easiest thing in arkβ¦
Just go into the trench with one on your shoulder grab an egg and the eat some organic polymer! Boom you have a wyvern egg!

Not only does it retrieve your items if you die (everything - IF it can handle the weight!) but it can fetch bags for you!! On Xbox, double tap Y with the bag in your line of sight and Fjordhawk will retrieve it for you. It will highlight bags with a little icon of a skull and crossbones in a black circle that pulses. Itβs a shoulder pet that can bring you your item cache and save you from death loops, it can also Scout ahead and warn you of danger
These things are literally one of the best creatures in the game. If you die it just brings your bag to you from across the map, AND it can pick up creature's bags. I love this thing.
It should fit through doors and literally anything
