Tips & Strategies
I save one and it is getting tamed!
Super easy tame. Knock out with and bow and trans. Feed it raw meat. Boom 💥 TAMED!
This baby don't need a saddle to ride and gives you oxygen while riding and also supplies you with a breath 🫁 or 2 under water.
✨ANNND another thing it is SUPER fast under water 💦
All these tips here tells you how to tame it... but what they fail to mention is the fact, you have to breed it on land, can’t move the egg and the baby HAVE to STAY IN THE WATER!! Don’t push the baby on land or it WILL EXPLODE!!!! I just watch my baby explode right before my eyes!!! Never have I seen a Dino exposed before!!!
How to tame diplocaulus
Where to find:
Diplocaulus spawn in swaps but they are rare but many of them spawn in dungeons.
Taming details:
Diplocaulus are knockout tames and they eat meat
Problems:
Diplocaulus are always getting eaten by everything so if find one keep it safe also diplocaulus have low health so you might accidentally kill it
Abilities when tamed:
Diplocaulus can only be ridden underwater and they dont need saddles and when you ride it yoy wont loose oxygen but the diplocaulus will and diplocaulus are fast underwater

Poor things always getting killed by the Kaprosuchus and the Sarcosuchus.
They are like so rare for me so I always try to save them if they are being attacked by a Sarco or Kapro. They come in cool colors too like dark BLUE!
On a 135, 13 crossbow shots DO have a chance of killing it.
They are skittish but not anywhere near faster than humans. They have low torpor and health, so tranq darts are recommended. Tamed like any carnivore, kibble is Archeopteryx. Can be found anywhere in and around the swamps.
These cute amphibians are excellent for killing trilobites and gathering their corpses, since they:
* have a large damage multiplier on them
* gather black pearls in addition to the normal drops
* are fast enough to avoid and evade marine predators such as sharks
* will kill and gather trilobites in a single hit.
Additionally, they’re great for pre-scuba gear silica pearl diving, since they can act as a portable oxygen tank. Just be wary of sea scorpions stinging your diplocaulus while you are grabbing pearls, because it has extremely low torpor and could be knocked out.
These guys are the kings of trilobite hunting. Not only do they deal additional damage to them, they're great at collecting chitin, oil, and pearls. Other perks: they don't need a saddle to be ridden while in the water, they provide you with oxygen underwater, and are faster than just about anything while swimming. Super underrated mounts imo.
One time while I was hunting terror birds I saw a really pretty orange female one. Sadly, it seems the terror birds were on a hunt for it. But I finished them off for their evil deeds against rare salamanders. Up is respect for the endangered lizards
Quite possibly the only completely harmless creature in the swamp.

Useful to supply oxygen to divers who do not have scuba gear at hand but very weak in battle.
You can always find them in the swamps being attacked by sarco, kapro, boa, and baro..
