You probably think these guys are useless and not worth it but if you tame a few low levels they can be SO useful, as they can incubate eggs. Using them on SE to incubate eggs is really handy because it means you don't have to have a generator that will need to be repaired from time to time.
I heard that melee damage increases amount of insulation. Take with a grain of salt, but could be very useful, as you would only need meat to keep them running, and you would need less of these than air conditioners. Again, take with a grain of salt.
Dimetrodon kibble is one of the required kibbles for imprinting. However, it can be difficult to see when they lay eggs, as they will be on top of the eggs. To fix this, build a pen and put them all inside. Then, put them all on wander. If you have a male, you can leave him stationary, or neuter him and put him on wander.
Works as an A/C Unit providing hypo and hyper insulation, and is potentially more effective then an A/C unit. Insulation provided is based on melee damage. From testing it seems to be that insulation is equivalent to melee stat. So an imprinted dimetrodon with 400% melee provides 400 insulation equivalent to 4 A/C units.
Incredibly underrated tame for incubating eggs. Just two of them are able to keep a Wyvern egg comfy enough to hatch. Very slow, so use a Quetzal or other large flyer to carry them to where they are needed.
Per the wiki updated on August 7 2018 these amazing creatures potential to increase your egg incubation is boosted by increasing its melee damage. At 1000 melee damage it can incubate a wyrvn egg which requires 14 AC’s! Furthermore, this bonus can stack leading to a cheap and efficient hatching process without the need for power generation. On maps like Scorched Earth that have frequent storms these dinosaurs can be a literal life saver.
