Dark depths

Chapter 1

Light from the surface shined down on a survivor, laying face down in the ground. He lifts his face from the dirt, shaking his dirty face.

“Where am… I?” The survivor says, looking upwards, towards the light. The survivor stands up, a strange feeling washes over them. Almost like somethings… watching them, from every direction…

“What is this feeling? Is this normal?” The survivor says. They turn around to see… a little creature, resembling that of a frog… mixed with a fish, a bulldog and… an anglerfish? The survivor stumbles backwards, tripping on a rock.

“Ah!” They shout, hitting the ground. The little creature walks towards him, with it’s tung hanging out. The survivor gets a feeling, a strange one… “maybe I should tame it?” They think. The thought gets stronger as they sees a cluster of mushrooms. They stumble over to the mushroom cluster, grabbing a mushroom with an aquatic color. They hold it in-front of the creature, which quickly chomps down on the mushroom. The survivor feels a weight on it’s shoulder suddenly, looking to the right, seeing the same creature on they’re shoulder.

“Hold on mate! Are you… tamed?” The surviver asks. The creature nods, happily looking at the blond human. The survivor looks at the creature, trying to find out a good name for it. It seemed like the creature was male, and the bulb hanging from its rod was glowing red…

“I’ll call you… Tinto! Do you like that name?”

The creature nods.

“Well Tinto, we’ll be good friends!” The survivor says, as a smile forms on they’re face. The creature licks the survivor on the nose, then giving of a happy bark.

“Impressive! I didn’t think a newcomer could tame a bulbdog that easily!”

“A what now?” The survivor says, looking towards the figure.

“A bulbdog, the creature sitting on your shoulder!” The other survivor says. “My name is Clara! And your’s?”

“I… I don’t know my name…” the survivor says, looking down.

“Well, follow me! I’ll show you to the main camp! Where all the OTHER survivors hang out!” Clara says.
