Chapter 36: Soon to be Scouting
Part 3/3
Ruby and Sunny managed to catch up to Paige, slightly out of breath.
“Whew, that was tiring,” Ruby muttered, slowly heaving in and out. Paige let out a groan, crawling out from the bloody mess and wiping the splinters off her palms.
“Well we got it. That’s all that matters,” Paige said, putting her club away.
Suddenly, a stench hit their nostrils. A very powerful one at that. Paige gagged, fanning the air and plugging her nose.
“What is that gross air?” Paige choked. Sunny looked to the side to see a giant pile of dung sitting on the ground, flies surrounding it and bugs crawling out. She nearly vomited at the sight, turning away.
Ruby took her glasses off, folded them, and put them away in her pouch, letting out a murmur of surprise.
“That is one big pile of shi-”
“Hey, look at this!” Sunny burst into joy. She picked something small, around the size of someone’s hand, off the ground and showed it to Paige and Ruby. It was a baby version of the pig.
“Ew, get that thing away from me! It’s probably responsible for that mess it made over there!” Paige gasped, swatting Sunny’s hand away.
“Exactly why we should keep it. It’d be perfect for fertilizer! Maybe then I wouldn’t have to pick up so much…” Sunny said, scratching her chin, “I think we should keep it!”
“I suppose if you REALLY want to keep it, then go for it,” Ruby said with hooded eyes, “But we are NOT going to be parenting that thing, got it?”
“Alright alright, you won’t. But think of it as a long term investment. Sure enough we’ll have so many crops! Maybe someone back at camp knows how to cook, and will make something good.”
Ruby’s ears perked up at the mention of cooking.
“Cooking huh?” Ruby said, “Y’know what, maybe it’s not such a bad idea after all.”
Paige scoffed, hauling the small pig onto her shoulder and letting out a groan.
“Alright enough diddle-daddling. Let’s go now. I’m getting sleepy, and I wanna go back to camp already.”
With that the three girls made their way back to the others to tame the Pteranodon.
All the Light we Cannot see
Chapter 3
‘This must be a dream.’ Max thought as he sat down at a fancy table. How can a king around 30 years old be his grandson?! Perhaps he was still in bed, as the camp helper was setting up his plane. “Max, you must be wondering how did you get here?” His great great and some more great grandson asked. Max just nodded at him. “Oh I forgot, I’m Artois. That reminds me of something!” Artois said as he leaned on his chair and whispered something to the guard next to him, then the guard whispered something back. While Artois and the guard were whispering about something, Max looked around the room. It wasn’t very huge like the mess, since it was probably for the king and some guest. Suddenly something caught his attention. He heard a cricket noise outside the door. Max took out his cricket and press on it twice to confirm if it was real.
The same noise came back again, which means it wasn’t fake. “Uh Artois, can I go outside for a while?” Max asked which interrupted him. “Oh yes yes, you must have a long and strange day. Go out and get some fresh air.” Max got up from his chair and picked up his rifle right next to him. Max opened the door and walked out. Suddenly somebody grabbed him and pushed him against the wall. “Is it true you’re in first division air force?!” Demanded the mysterious person. Max nodded at the man. He was wearing a mask that was covering his mouth and nose, and a cloak. The man took off his mask.
“Andrew?!” Max exclaimed. “Quiet down, I’m gonna get caught.” Andrew said as he looked around anxiously. “I thought I was the only one that lost power during the flight.” Max said. “No, after we tried radioing you, you didn’t answer back. We assumed your plane was hit. Then suddenly I lost power and crashed landed on this damn island. I had to kill a chicken thing to survive. Then I found a village, knocked down a guard, and disguised as him.” Andrew explained. “Do you think the rest of the division is on the island or whatever this place is?” Max asked. “I doubt they survive the crash or even lost power, I tried contacting HQ but nothing came back. So I’m pretty sure stranded here if the rest of the division is here.” Andrew replied. Max suddenly heard some grunting and walking coming toward this way.
“Come on!” Max told Andrew. They escaped through the palace door and soon was outside, with people shouting and laughing. Andrew took of his cloak and putted on his bag. “Did you get changed yet?” Andrew asked as he was wearing a rifleman suit. “I already got it on since I was in my plane.” Max replied as he took out his pilot suit, he took his helmet from his backpack and putted it on. People that passed by was looking at the duos and whispering something about them. He heard one that called them ‘beggars’ which made Max really mad. “Look! It’s some ding dongs that came to beg!” A young teenager said aloud.
Max got so angry that he walked up to the kid, with Andrew behind him. Max grabbed the teenager by the collar and pulled him up. “Say that one more time, or this.” Max pulled out his pistol and shot at the air. The teenager became frightened and whimpered loudly, soon the entire place was chaos with people screaming and running. “That’s enough!” Shouted someone. Max dropped the teenager and looked at the door entrance of the palace. It was Artois. “Cover me.” Andrew whispered to Max.
Until a roar came.

The Terrible Demise of Tortuga
Chapter four.
Jay awoke the next morning, he laid in bed, thinking about last night. Aaron’s words echoed in his head. ‘Ever wonder why they have it?’ ‘They haven’t had an excuse to execute or hang anyone for years…’ His thoughts were interrupted by loud snoring. *snore* *snore* *snooooore* Jay groaned, but Jack continued to snore. Jack took after their father who was a hard sleeper and a hard snorer. Jay hopped down from his bunk and shook his brother. “Jack get up! Get up!” Jay said. Jack groaned. “Get up get up Jack!” Jay shook Jack till he finally sat up groggily. “What?” Jack grimaced. “Breakfast.” Jay said simply then he walked from the room. Indeed this one word motivated Jack to stumble his way to the kitchen where his mother and Emma were setting the table for breakfast. There was grits, eggs, and crispy bacon. Jack’s stomach growled. He sat down next to Jay and quick as a whip snatched a piece of bacon. Arianna fixed him with a stern look. “You’ll wait like everyone else.” She informed him. Jack sighed regretfully. “Fine.” He growled. Aragorn was already seated at the table, pouring himself a steaming cup of hot coffee. Once Arianna and Emma had sat down they bowed their heads and Aragorn prayed: “thank you lord for this food and for providing it for us. Thank you for giving us this house and everything else you gave us. In your precious son’s name..” “amen” They all said. Everyone began to eat. “So mjm wat ar wa doin tody?” Jack asked. Aragorn looked at him. “Swallow son, your mother can’t understand you.” Aragorn declared. Jack turned red then swallowed the bite of food with a gulp of milk. “So mom, what are we doing today.” Arianna smiled. “Well Jack, you and your siblings will be going to… make some new friends while me and your father unpack.” Jay and Jack stared at her with their mouths open despite the food in them. Emma grimaced. “Ew, can y’all swallow BEFORE you do that? I don’t want to see that.” She said. Jack and Jay immediately complied. When they had swallowed Jay spoke up: “mom? Why? We don’t need new frie-“ Aragorn cleared his throat. “Listen to your mother.” And so after breakfast they set off to ‘make new friends’.

Eventually they came to a large house of mostly stone in the middle of the forest.
"Well, this is it" his new friend said as he flung open the door. Before stepping in, he thought "what if this is a trap?" So he asked "how would it benefit you to save me?"
"I needed someone to.... help me with something " he replied. Then he remembered the conversation they had on the way here.
"Can we please get it over with!?" He asked
"Sure"
"Oh and By the way, if it involves me getting killed, then count me out."
10 minutes later, he found himself sitting on a couple pillars. "Stand up and wave your arms a little!" He heard the man shout at him
"What is wrong wi-" he was cut off by a massive footstep, not too far away.....

Curled up on his ledge, Forest gazed down at his two sleeping sisters on the moss covered floor below them. The basilisks voice filled his head, and he couldn’t chase it off.
Fjordur needs you…
You will save the world…
How? Forest caught himself thinking. How could I save the world, of all creatures? I’m just a silly juvenile Rock drake that’s spent most of his day playing hide and seek and being teased by his sisters.
And… how could I save the world from down here? He glanced at his sisters, breathing deeply in their sleep. I… I couldn't leave them.
Even if you had to save the world? He could hear the basilisks whispers much too clearly.
Forest slammed his eyes shut. With all these words and thoughts and… WORRY in his brain, sleep was a long ways away.
***
Forest was startled awake. His sisters were muttering sleepily, shifting in their spots, mother and father were in the next cave over, but he could hear sleepy mumbles and sighs coming from them as well.
Should I leave?
Forest sat up quietly at the thought.
Like, right now?
I have to save the world, apparently.
But my family…
Forest slid off his ledge, making a final decision. He breathed in deeply, and padded down the cavern hall to their study room. Small glow worms wiggled on the walls around him. He slowly made way into the smallest cave, which he could barely squeeze into.
In the cave, was a small plant.
It was the first and only plant Forest had ever seen. That was one thing his sisters would tease him about. His name. Forest.
He was a walking joke, in the dark, leafless caves. But when he found this plant, the adults let him keep it alive.
Carefully he tore the largest leaf off the plant, trying not to hurt any other part. He turned and walked another cavern. The one where he and his sisters would burn rotting sticks. He grabbed a chunk of charcoal from the floor and scraped a note acrossed the leaf, writing:
Gone to save the world. Can’t explain now. Be back soon, stay safe.
love you guys.

Chapter 36: Soon to be Scouting
Part 2/3 (Part Count Increased)
As everyone traveled through the dark forest, a sudden animal cry pierced the air.
Rawk, rawkkk~!
“What was that?!” Skyler asked, on guard.
“I can’t see anything out here, even with Sunny’s hair it’s like my eyes are blindfolded!” Rick noted.
The scratching of wood together brushed everyone’s ears, and a flame was ignited. Everyone looked to the source and saw Ruby carrying a makeshift torch. The flame crackled softly, almost like a whisper.
“Better?” Ruby asked, her implant glowing.
“Better,” Rick said, giving her a thumbs-up. Neddy gasped and pointed at the noise-making creature.
“It’s a Pteranodon! My favorite dinosaur ever!” Neddy sarcastically rejoiced. Ruby shot daggers at Neddy.
“That’s what we’re looking for, right?” Aurora said.
“Yeah, it is,” Samuel replied, “It’s pretty vulnerable. We should create a plan to knock it out. I bet it’ll fly away pretty easily…”
“You’re totally right. But what should we do? Do you think we can get it trapped in the trees? Hold it down, perhaps?” Aurora asked.
“We could do that-”
Paige rolled her eyes, walked up to the Pteranodon, held her club back, and with one fell swoop slammed the club into its skull. It let out a squeak, collapsing to the floor, its tongue sprawling out and its breathing heavy. Its eyes were shut and it seemed unconscious.
“Did you just knock that thing out?” Aurora gasped, bewildered.
“Yeah. That was the plan, right?” Paige smirked.
“It was, but I didn’t expect it to be that easy!” Aurora objected.
“Take it from me, little valedictorian, not everything requires a plan,” Paige grinned, crouching down to look at the Pteranodon, “Some things ya just gotta go with the flow, ya know?”
“After all, not everything’s supposed to make sense.”
“Hm,” Samuel thought.
“So we’re going to have to feed it meat,” Neddy and Rick both said at the same time. Rick looked at Neddy with a sly smile, whispering “dino nerd” to him. Neddy glared at him.
“Well then, let’s get hunting,” Sunny said, taking her slingshot out. Paige twirled her club around, slamming it into her hand. Ruby hooked her torch on her belt and took her crossbow out, loaded with arrows.
“Us three shall go, girls only. We’ll hunt…” Paige looked around for a bit, then pointed at a fat pig with large tusks protruding out its face. It also had a short, stubby, elephant-like tusk, “That thing.”
Ruby aimed at the pig and closed one of her eyes, pressing onto the trigger and letting an arrow loose. It hit the pig and it let out a squeal, fleeing and letting its little legs take it away. The three began to chase.
As they followed the pig deeper into the forest, Sunny pelted the pig’s legs with rocks, slowing it down, and allowing Paige to run after it faster. As Paige approached the pig, she jumped forward and wrapped her arms around it, trapping it. It squirmed, trying to get free, but Paige was stronger than it seemed. As Paige wrestled with it, she wrapped her legs around its body and took her club out, raising it in the air and slamming it into the pig’s skull, crushing and killing it instantaneously.

Chapter 36: Soon to be Scouting
Part 1/2
“Hey, I see them over there!” Ruby said, pointing at a trio of girls making their way back to the obelisk. Sunny’s orange hair seemed to act like a light within the dark of the night. Stream, controlled by the reigns of Sunny, trotted over meekly as Aurora and Paige approached from behind.
Skyler walked up to Sunny with a bright smile, the green beam’s light that poured from the obelisk reflecting onto Skyler’s face.
“I’m glad you made it back safely, Sunny-”
Sunny pushed past Skyler and to Samuel, who looked at her with soft eyes.
“So, what’s your genius plan on finding Tiffany?” Sunny asked, stopping and crossing her arms. Samuel felt a wave of warmth flow down his cold body, Sunny’s hair flickering like flames.
“Heat manipulation?” Samuel thought to himself, “I don’t see how that’s helpful.”
“We’re going to scout and look as far out as we can,” Samuel explained, looking out onto the horizon. He could barely see giant sequoia trees poking out.
“It shouldn’t be too hard. If her little book gives her enough knowledge, then she’ll be far better off than the others, right?”
“Not a bad idea, right?” Paige added on, glaring at Skyler, “I don’t think it’ll get anyone here hurt.”
“I’m sure it won’t,” Sunny replied, her head tilting back and her eyes darting back.
“Okay, but like, how we gonna do that?” Rick asked, tapping his book on his leg.
“Simple enough,” Samuel responded, looking up at the night sky, “I saw some weird bird thing flying in the sky. It looked really fast from down here. And it seemed large enough to fit at least one person.”
“Pteranodons?” Neddy said, “Hey, those are my favorite dinosaurs!”
“They’re not dinosaurs though,” Ruby spoke up.
“Huh?”
“They’re flying reptiles, not dinosaurs. Completely different,” Ruby argued.
“They ARE dinosaurs!” Neddy sneered, “They lived way back in the past, looked really scary, and were reptiles, just like you said! Dinosaurs!”
“Are not!”
“Are too!”
“Okay, shut up,” Aurora snapped, an annoyed look on her face. Rick looked back and forth between the two of them and looked like he had something to say about the matter.
Aurora sighed, “Do continue Samuel.”
“So… I was thinking we should tame at least one. We could get one on the way back,” Samuel replied.
“I like this plan a lot,” Sunny said, “Sensible and reasonable. Let’s do it.”
With Samuel’s plan set in stone, the expedition team began to make the small trek back home. But as they walked away from the metal platform, Samuel looked back and couldn’t help but feel as if the metal beam had something more to it.
And he also couldn’t help but feel like he was being watched.
Sorry that under the waves has been postponed for so long! I’ve been dealing with some irl issues.. anyway, have chapter 3!
Pearl stared at the island for a long time. Eventually she left, seeping underwater. She had no idea why the humans kept trying to hunt her down, but she had learned a few tricks to evade them. As she kept swimming, she spotted a large movement. Startled, she veered back, but the creature had spotted her. She tried to escape, but it was faster. The strange creature closed its metallic jaws around her, and swam down at startling speeds. Shrieking in pain, she bit as hard as she could at its eye. The creature roared, loosening its grip as she swam towards a coral reef at top speed. When she was in the safety of a large reef structure, she managed to get a good look at it. It had a long, serpentine body and massive metal jaws. Then suddenly it turned towards her and smashed into the reef. She was trapped, and she needed to breathe. She made a swim for it, leaping to the surface, not even caring bout the human rafts right above her. She would probably die either way. The humans started screaming at her, and loaded their harpoons, shooting at her. The leviathan swam after her, smashing into one of the boards and nearly biting her tail. The humans retaliated, shooting something explosive at the creature. She lay on the surface, limp. She was too tired to move, and every bone in her body ached. Then the humans threw the net around her, and pearl simply let them take her away.

Chapter Four
Buddy woke up to the smell of cooked meat. Buddy, who had always liked Cooked meat looked around for the source. Buddy noticed that he was in a large room, with walls made out of stone, and a red carpeted floor with gold lining it. Then there was the table he was sitting at, it was in front of a golden throne. Sitting in the throne was a black Terror Bird. The terror bird seamed to be feasting on the carcass of a large deer. On top of the table was almost every type of food that could be eaten, and what was even better was that the food was cooked to perfection! “Who are you?” Buddy asked the terror bird. The bird coughed then looked at Buddy. “My name is King Ember Black. I am the king around here, and I would prefer you call me ‘Your Majesty’ or ‘Your Royal Highness!’ Now that I’ve told you my name, I advise you tell me yours.” The terror bird replied crisply. “Call me Buddy… Mr. Black.” Buddy said. Ember glared. “Not many creatures have as much nerve as you seem to have. Now I believe I told you too call me your majesty!” Ember said. “What do you want from me?” Buddy asked bored. “I need your help getting into The Kong Estate.”

Chapter 6
They ran across the green river. The swampy mist wasn’t cleared enough for them to see better. “We’re never gonna make it through all this mist!” Hissed Fury. “Maybe….- before he could finish talking, he got interrupted by shuttle - THERES NO TIME FOR SUGGESTIONS! JUST RUN THROUGH THE MIST! IGNORE IT!” Shuttle yelled. (Splash!) Shuttle was looking behind him.
***
The spinosaurs splashed into the green waters. ‘They ran into a TREE?’ Fury thought. ‘Alrighty now, that shows us that those spinosaurs are STUPID.’ He thought again. They kept running. Mia flew above. “Anything strange up there?” Anubis asked while she answered, “I see..a green glowing crystal in the air, do you think what I think?” She asked. “No, but we need to know what that is.” They ran father away from the swamp, chasing Mia across the green waters. When they got closer to the green crystal ore, a piece of it dropped on Mia’s bird like head. “OW!” She scowled. “What was THAT?!” Fury hissed constantly. They ran to the green piece of crystal ore. “What-what’s this?” Shuttle asked. Shuttle scolded that this piece of rune is his. “This is mine now! I saw it first!” Fury shouted back to Shuttle. “No I did, but that doesn’t mean it’s mine, it’s a rune, it belongs to no one.” A sneaky kapro snuck behind them and snapped at them as well as stealing the rune. “Hey! That our rune! We found it first!” Shuttle shouted. “Did you have your CLAWS on it first? No, I did. I stole it fair and square. It’s mine now. Finders keepers, loser weepers!” The kapro scolded. He ran back behind them straight towards the swampy mist. “Hey! GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE- he got interrupted by Anubis and Sorow - now now Shuttle, it’s just a rune. All we need to do is find that kapro. It’s no big deal.” Sorow comforted. “Yeah Shuttle, be calm.” Anubis said. They searched for the sneaky kapro. Shuttle, still filled with anger, searched behind and in the trees by shaking it. His big claws shook every tree. “There you are you little sneaky kapro! That’s our rune! Now give it back!” Shuttle shouted. “No way! I’m not giving this rune back in till you trade me!” The kapro scolded again. They looked for something to trade. There was a Mesopithecus. ‘That little monkey..’ Fury thought. ‘No other survivor can tame this in time.’ He thought again. They chased the Meso around. Fury finally got it’s tail and bit it one by one. It died. Fury took it last where the kapro was. She wasn’t there anymore. It was like a game of hide n’ seek. Fury remember a long time ago, trying to play hide n’ seek with his brother, But that was when Nola showed up. They searched for the kapro again. And well, found nothing. Intill now. “Found you again!” He yelled. The kapro looked at the Meso in his jaws. “Hmm, looks like your here to trade me eh? I’ll take you to my cave. I have a lot of stolen items. Follow me.” The kapro said. They followed the kapro to the exstreamly dark cave. “How long till we’re there?” Fury muttered while carrying the dead Meso. “I can’t hold this for long. It’s hurting my teeth.” He muttered again. They walking inside while the kapro held the rune in his claws. “What would you like?” He asked. “The rune.” Anubis hissed slightly with anger. “This is off limits. ONLY, if you kill…The reaper.” The kapro said. “The REAPER? WHAT IS THAT?” he hissed confused. “The reaper!? You don’t know what the reaper is!?” The kapro hissed slightly. “No, is it some type of villain or something?” Fury asked. “Yes, if you know Nola, you should know the reaper.” The kapro said again. “Nola…yes we know her, but she didn’t tell us about the reaper.” Fury said. They discussed about the reaper. “Hmm..maybe I can help you defeat the reaper. By the way, my name is Joe.” He said. “Even though you only need 4 people for this prophecy, b u t, you can ALWAYS use another buddy.” Joe said. “Sorry for stealing this. It’s apart of my collection. Now all you need to do, is defeat the reaper. Also I’ll have that.” Joe took the dead Meso from Fury’s jaws and ate it. “Mmm. That’s a good taste.” Joe said. “What about those velanasaurs that were chasing us?” Fury asked. “Those velanasaurs that were chasing you, they were apart of the reaper’s army.” Joe answered. “Ok, it’s getting dark, we should look for somewhere to sleep.” Anubis muttered. They looked for a cave to be in for the night. “Oh! I completely forgot about finding Nola! I wanted to show her that we found everyone! A n d, that I’m not useless!” Fury said. “It’s too late now Fury. We have to sleep now.” Anubis muttered again. Everyone was tired. Joe found a cave to be in. “Maybe Nola is in this cave.” Joe said. But most of the people were asleep. “Oh, everyone is asleep. Well, good night.” Joe whispered. They slept intill morning.
