To tame a Phoenix, shoot it with a flame arrow, flamethrower or Fire Wyvern. Weapon quality impacts taming speed; a 200% damage bow will be twice as fast as a 100% bow. Please ignore taming effectiveness and taming times as the Phoenix has unique calculations. Have a good taming technique idea? Share a tip!
You can get it to spawn next to your base because of the following: It always respawns at it's last location, so if the heatwave ends while you are following it you will know where it is for the next heatwave. It also chases you when you eat flowers... hint hint
It introduced a new taming method, while not the pseudo-boss we prayed 4 but to tame it u set it on fire with flame arrow, flame throweror a fire Wyvern, they only spawn during heat waves.keep this in mind.
Find a phenix during a heatwave and follow it until it ends. The phenix will turn into ashes and land on the ground but will spawn right back at the same exact spot during the next heatwave. Build a trap 6 blocks high so I can't glitch out and you have yourself a trapped phenix to tame:)
It's little kick attack can be used to mine any ore node effectively which is the best for metal seance it can smelt metals four at a time with no other resources, they also need sulfur to eat, can be healed with fire, and poop silica pearls.

Although it doesn't land, the Phoenix regains stamina by flying idle in the air, ridden or not. It craps silica pearls, eats sulphur, and its C gathers like an axe. Hold space for its dash, right click for the fireball, and everything but the C ignites people aflame. It can smelt and cook stuff, but sadly charcoal don't happen when you put wood in it. DISSAPOINTMENT : IMMEASURABLE
Only appear in heat waves, reappear in the same spot they were last heat wave, taming carries over from heat wave to heat wave. Possible taming methods include using a griffin and a flame thrower, tapping its pile of ashes in between heat waves, and chasing it down with a fire wyvern.
