Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a royal griffin? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a royal griffin.
Taming a max level griffin is one of, if not the hardest challenge there is on Ark Mobile.
Here are the steps I always take:
1. Fly around and find a low level Griffin
2. Use a name change tag (100 amber in store) and tame this griffin, it will take a while to find another low level griffin with the same surname but they will only breed if they have the same surname
3. Breed these two griffins together to get griffin eggs and make griffin kibble (super griffin kibble if able).
4. Go fly around to find a high level griffin and tame (I always buy another name change tag)
It's a very expensive and lengthy ordeal because you need three x15 balms(to tame each griffin), the plant seeds(for kibble), and 2 name change tickets. But it has been the easiest way for me because I don't want to spend real life money.
Hopefully this helps you in your quest for a high level griffin, and please change the process in any way to make it better if possible.
Have fun on your Ark adventures!
Hey there! This is A SUPER SERIOUS TIP! If u want a high level use a 15x soothing balm… they cost 45 amber but an easy way to get amber is to go around the map on ur fastest flyer or mount and open supply drops… there is a 25% chance u will get amber, the better the drop, the more amber u get, also if u find a ringed drip they have a 40% to drop amber, underwater drops have a 30% of amber drop, ringed underwater drops have a 50% chance of amber drop, the maximum amber u can get from a drop is 5. Also cave drops have a 25% to drop amber… One more thing, the artifact of the strong can reward amber occasionaly as well. -Valkeri
If you need to tame a royal Griffin in 30 second then do this:-
Step1:-go in the top of Griffin mountain and put trap and trap it and
Wait for night then put a bed and sleep this will do your Griffin food zero
Step2:-then knock it
Step3:-give 10×balm and put your meat or prime meat or griffin kibble fast
Don't unclaim it because it will not die after 15 min. But it will become a real wild griffin and get angry on you.
U need to be level 85^ to tame
If a Griffin doesen't respects you, you can't tame it.
If you have the same last name as a griffen it will respect you
If you’re in single player, Taming these will be much easier, just follow these steps.
1. Select a low lvl griffin, Lead it away from the mountian into a trap where there are no creatures
2. Place down a bed and sleep, this will cause the griffin to be starving when u KO it. (Only works in single player, in Multiplayer just leave it trapped for a few hours and dont let it kill anything)
3. Knock it out, Get soothing balm and give it to the griffin, Then get prime meat or allo kibble and give it to the griffin. Just make sure you have enough so that it tames
4. Get another low lvl griffin with the same last letters in its name that is the opposite gender.
5. Repeat the process, tame up around 2-4 females and 1 male only.
6. Breed them, make griffin kibble.
7. Repeat the process with a high lvl griffin, but use griffin kibble instead.
Quick tip: when i tamed a 290 griffin at 10x balm it needed 4 griffin kibble and at 15x balm it needed 3, if that helps.
PRO TIP FOR MOBILE USERS!!!
Do not spend ancient amber on soothing balm.
Instead do this.
1. (Optional) Get aurthoplura pet (Recommended from clever cave) you can tame a lvl 70 with one broth of enlightenment, although it is a pain getting the black pearl. It is passive tame but you can easily get close with bug repellent and ghillie armor, The aurthoplura is a good tame cuz no other animal can see it.
2. Go speedrun the caves with aurthoplura with its stealth you can easily pass any enemies.
3. Do the snow cave first (remember to bring fur) and bring about 5 sleeping bags find the artifact (you can do the entire cave with this guy place sleeping bags near artifact grab one, and then die respawn near obelisk tribute it and die again respawn back at sleeping bag and so forth. Do this until you get gas mask. (You can teleport tame out of cave).
4.head to swamp cave with buddy, gas masks and sleeping bag, do the cave (you might have to do some of it on foot so I recommend bring weapon) find artifact place sleeping bags and repeat.
You can also do this in lave cave and get acendent weapons (mastercraft if in easy) and also will not work so easily in hardcore.
Got 15 times 10 soothing balm this way
Hope this helps ;) WCKDD1
UP SO ALL CAN SEE PLS
These are so mean on mobile. I go up the mountain for rare mushrooms to tame a kangaroo 🦘. Come down to 5 of these trying to kill my equus. AND when I knock one out it says "IT DOES NOT RESPECT YOU" and I'm like "Waaaaaaaa"
Tamed one with LOTS AND LOTS of stacks of meat. Don't do it.
Important tip-
First time 2 opposite gender low level Griffin (suggestion level 10)
Then grind Griffin eggs and after getting 10 eggs you can take high level Griffin (Must use 10x smoothing blam)
I tame a 260 lvl Griffin with 4 Griffin kibble and a 10x smoothing blam. Now I have 9 Griffin in my base.
If you use a sleeping bag next to an unconscious creature in mobile the taming will fast forward but the torpor will not, this can be really helpful if you fear it’ll wake up before taming
Changed how to tame a Griffin for the first time because apparently my other one was asking for ups.
Items needed: A bed and a thatch foundation, 85+ level or the same last name as the Griffin, 100+ Allo kibble depending on the level. (This can be easily obtained by taking an easy female Diplo which is the allo's preffered kibble and going to the east of the island and taming a female allo despite the level.), A bit more than the amount of tranq darts Dododex suggests for your Griffin., HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of bio-toxin depending on the level, the torpor is going quicker than you think. It just has a lot of it, preferably a 10x soothing balm which is easily obtained by doing cave runs or the megaphirana quest, 4x stone dinosaur gateways and 2x reinforced dinosaur gates (This acts as the trap.), and last but not least, a high health flyer.
1. Find a low level Griffin (The lowest you can find for your difficulty) that respects you, this can be seen by viewing it with a spyglass and it should say 'Respects you.'.
2. Place down your trap, this should be 4 stone dinosaur gateways in an even line with small gaps that are big enough to shoot through and for your flyer to fly through, but not big enough for a Griffin to fly through. Then, place only ONE reinforced dinosaur gate at one far end of the trap.
3. Using the flyer, aggro your selected Griffin and lead it through the trap, getting out through the gaps once it's inside. After that you will need to VERY QUICKLY place down the last reinforced dinosaur gate at the other far end of the trap.
4. Now that you have your Griffin trapped, you should be able to start shooting it without a problem and without it running away.
5. Once it is unconscious, immediately use your soothing balm on it and make sure its torpor is FULL. Then place down your bed and go to sleep, once you wake up it should be fully starved, then start feeding it the allo kibble.
6. Once it is tamed, bring it back home and repeat the process with another low level Griffin of the opposite gender and same last name, as they are low levels, they should be WAY easier to tame than just 1 high level. After you've tamed both griffins, you may now breed them and get a significantly higher level. Good job.
(This can also be done with one higher level griffin, just without the other Griffin taming part. It works either way.)

His name was Morrina, Morri for short, he was a albino Griffin and he took 300 bio toxins, 400 narcotics, and 300 prime meat......................5 mother trucker hours 😫😩😫😩 is was allll worth it though.....now I need to find him a Girlfriend
A youtuber named Schwalbe in his video titled "FINALLY HIGH LEVEL GRIFFIN TAMING AND BREEDING | [S1E30] | ARK Survival Evolved Mobile" said that in single player you only need 2 Super griffin kibble to tame. Timestamp 08:25.
I will never tame one of these. I mean to tame a level 1, you will need 439 cooked prime meat and it will take 19 and a half hours! You will also need 1310 biotoxin to keep it knocked out. And a level 150 will take 149,42 hours to tame if you're using cooked prime meat! Such a waste of time and resources.
Tame 2 low level first
then breed them
get the egg
make kibble
and go tame a higher level one :)
Get to at least level 85 to earn the Royal Griffins respect. From there onwards get 10x soothing balm, 10 allo kibble and tame a LEVEL 1 FEMALE, the reason for this is so you can gather the griffin eggs and make the better version kibble and tame higher levels. I highly recommend a pacyrhino to use the calm feature because it drains the griffins stamina forcing it to land and also drains its food enabling the griffin to be tamed faster.
I hope this was helpful because these are a royal pain to tame.
***How To Gain A Griffin's Respect?***
1_ have the same surname as the griffin. Example: If ur name is Yumir

*tip* u need to be lvl 45+ with the same surname for it to respect you
2_ be level 95+ for EVERY griffin to respect you
3_Have Primal Pass and unlock Gold Crown
***How To Tame It?***
If you have done 1 of the steps in ***How To Gain A Griffin's Respect?*** and u got the griffin to respect u this is what you have to do
1_ knockout the griffin
2_ get a hide sleeping bag and sleep next to it that will bring its hunger to 0
3_feed it a 15x soothing balm
4_feed it its preferred allo egg kibble or raw prime meat
5_ wait till its tamed
6_ ride the bad boi and have fun flying ^_^
***How To Breed Griffins?***
