With teamwork, it can be used to help tame other animals. One team member on Lymantria, the other ones shooting tranq. The slow effect is 90%, therefore, plenty to slow down any creature enough for a person to type it while shooting tranq shots.
Had a lvl 95 with 800+ health and a lvl 10 poison wyvern attacked and the moth was going to town, it didnt kill tge wyvern but it put up a hell of a distraction for me and my boys to get the stuff to kill it .......worth the tame tbh
Tamed Lymantrias make excellent base buddies. They are slow and agile - making them ideal for offloading dinos and building tall bases. They can also easily land on a target 1x1 square, and usually stay on that square if you need to turn while landed. This particularly is useful for reloading turrets or placing that last ceiling. For low level base buddies, level weight and stamina. For high level base buddies, only level weight.
Contrary to the dossier, a moth CAN be very fast. I had a moth with around 300% movement speed, which can outrun a wyvern. Unfortunately, due to no damaging attack, they can be hard to lvl, but and easy fix is to use a lystro. They are very good starter flying mounts.
Probably the best mount for wyvern eggs. Get two low level moths, with the first one being the egg retriever. When it gets smited, go peel the egg off it's charred body and fly away safely. The wyverns will not chase you for the egg.
