Tips & Strategies
Taming an ichthyornis will allow you to gather the corpse by setting it on hunt and retrieve, after the fish is killed it will deliver the corpse right to you and you can tame the Hesperornis
Go east of the hidden lake and you find a small pond, 2 spawned there for me.
ULTIMATE LIFEFORM. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Real hesperornis could not walk and were like avian seals!
Tried to tame him but I kept dropping the fish instead of feeding him. Between that and him pecking me I got angry, and decided he should taste my sword instead. Sorry dude.
Dododex this is affected by a lasso.
Use a horse to lasso it, then you can move it around to new fish spawns when the area gets cleared. The horse can also step on the duck to pin it down, or simply use the lasso to keep it close while tribemates gather fish.
BIGGEST PAIN TO TAME EVER! have to get sabertooth fish kill them BUT do NOT harvest them you have to drag the body to it and feed it. Also good luck feeding it while the body is flailing everywhere in front of you. Also you CAN breed them.
Very common, I spotted 2 on my second day, they don’t attack unless u attack first (from my experiences)
For those who have problem feeding a hesperornis, due to the fact that the feed button, is the same as the drop. Do not press E, Instead hold E then Click Feed Fish.
Sometimes becomes aggro without you hitting it, just when you get too close without fish. Had that yesterday and my Argy defended me and killed it :(
When you see this creature, this thing sometimes glitches snd goes in circles around dead fish it kills while its wild. So wait for it to finish circling then feed.
These guys are uncommon but if you go down to the bottem left of the island by the note run and red ob there are alot
Can't be picked up by anything while they are wild. They do aggro on you, and can walk through door frames, so you can kite them to a taming pen then use an itchy to bring those succulent salmon to you. Tamed a 140 last night in about 20 minutes.
