Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a diplocaulus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a diplocaulus.
You can easily find these guys in the swamps I mainly find them in the swamps near green obelisk they usually get attacked by barys kapros sarcos and boas so sometimes they are at low health.
U can build a wooden box just walls JUST WALLS

|_____|. Like that but seal it up. Use and argy or pteranodon to go pic it up
And place it in the trap
If it’s at low health DO NOT TRY TO TAME IT there’s chances it can die straight away wait for it to heal up *which is a pain but worth it*
Feed their preferred kibble **simple kibble** mobile: Archaeopteryx kibble
I recommend prime fish meat that u can easily get by killing saber tooth salmon and collecting it with a metal hatchet
I also recommend prime meat u can get by killing strong Dinos like a paratherium.
U don’t have to use a soothing balm it tames ok /fast-ish
I recommend u have at least 60 Narcotics some bio toxin **just in case**
**bio toxin can be collected by killing jelly fish** and there tamed!
This thing can also be founded in lost island i just tamed one
Use this to kill trilobites.. it kills and collects in 1 hit collects pearls chitin and oil that way.. quite alot!
Can be picked up with a pteranodon.
Im going to tame a diplocaulus first i saw it in the beach but i need bola club slingshot bow and tranq arrows i need to tame with raw meat with soothing balm and i name him Willie
Diplo can give oxygen in underwater
Without scuba suit
AMAZING....
Diplocaulus are constantly picked on by swamp carnivores, even the sluggish Dilos, add on the fact that they are so painfully slow and it results in it constantly kicking the bucket.
For taming either take some strong tames to kill all swamp carnivores or, and this is worth noting, use a pteranodon/Tapejara to hook it out the swamp for easy pen taming
Tamed one today, it was by the Green odilisk. Brought it home with an argentavis, shot it a few times with narco arrows (bow) and fed it meat and narcotics as needed!
They look so dumb and cute, would recommend getting one

Bring a pteranodon or other flyer capable of grabbing. Diplocaulus spawn in swamps, and if you don’t pick it up to tame elsewhere, it will almost certainly be eaten by a crocodile. Even if it isn’t brutally eaten alive, you also happen to be on the menu for kapros, and may be killed or pulled away from the defense of your attempted tame.
Interesting how the are carnivores yet run away from any and all conflict
Bro to tame it just grab it with your argentavis bring it to base and hit it with two tranq darts it's so easy
So apparently this Dino in baby stages is like a tadpole and has to remain in water. I podded two juveniles and threw them out on land and they both just disappeared.
Keep them in water the full duration or it will disappear
.
Put it in water with you bring up its command wheel to ride. While your riding it it will share oxygen.
All you have to do is have a small room and carry it with your ptrenadon and shoot it with like 5 tranq arrows (if high level like mine)
Up if helpful
They are really rare to find but once you do tame one get it out of the swamp immediately or else you will have to start the process all over again R.I.P my pet diplocaulus
You think it’s all good just feeding it raw meat, so when I KO it I fed it raw meat then 36:28 later it tamed, waste of time but good for underwater experience.
Guys this guy is the best he is a good pet to be with
Use spyglass to find diplocaulus
The oxygen info is white and stands out against normal yellow green and red and is larger font...
There are very week Dino so kill everything that breaths on it, around it
To tame diplocaulus you have to make sure you have a lot of fish meat or normal meat. Then if you are taming it in the wild you should build a small little area with walls or spike walls around the perimeter in case anything tries to attack it because diplocaulus are usually a top ten prey item for most things in the swamp. Finally find a diplocaulus and then rather take some time to push it into the small area protected by walls or just get a pteranodon ride the pteranodon and pick up the diplocaulus and then drop it into the small area then tranq it, feed it, and tame it. These guys take a while to tame so be sure to bring ither narcotics or bio toxin with ya
