A single Compy is never an issue. Due to there curious nature of humans they'll walk right up to you and observe you without hostility. But after they see you they will send out a call to nearby Campus beckoning them. Once another Compy is close enough to get a pack bonus they loose there neutral mentality and the pack mind takes over and they become hostile to beware of multiple Compys.

Where there's one, more will slowly spawn in. They won't attack you unless in a group of two or more. The bigger the crowd, the more damage they do.
Burn them.. burn them with fire
Warning: If you hear one near you it won't attack, but just know there will be more and THEY will eat your toes!
If you are a low level and one of these runs up to you, donโt move. Donโt move or attack it. Just watch it. Donโt look away. It will run after a minute, probably (has happened to me) for reinforcements. When it does, turn around and RUN. if you want to tame one, bola it or it WILL get reinforcements! Up this for tiny low levels!
