Tips & Strategies from the iOS & Android apps
Okay so you circle around the turtles and hit them.. after that you get mojo berries(Purple berries) since they work the best you feed them. Once you tamed them they make the best defence pets i had two of them and they are godly defenders. Please up this so the nubs can see and become one of the pros.
Utility Roles for Carbonemys:
1. Tank. A very bulky dino for early game, due to their easy taming method they are worth taming just for their bulk alone. They take reduced damage everywhere but their head. Unfortunately, are outclassed by the Trike later on. (level Health)
2. Early game water mount. Their saddle is relatively inexpensive to craft, and they are significantly faster in water. Plus, no Oxygen stat means you can have access to local waterways around your base. Just don't try traversing the ocean...(level Health, Stamina, and Movement Speed)
3. Scout (if you want). They are slow, even while sprinting, but their bulk is good for any scouting missions you want to do in the early game. (level Stamina and Movement Speed)
4. Kibble Maker. Their eggs are classed as Medium, and they lay at a decent rate. Great for Regular Kibble!
My name is ShinyChimchar01 and if you like this tip, I've done similar tips on the Trike, Raptor, and Parasaur and my next tip is on the Lystrosaurus!
The carbonemys is only useful as a tank, but as a cheap tame, they certainly can tank a ton, so here’s a guide to tame one (especially useful for Tusoteuthis taming)
1. These overgrown turtles can be found along almost all beaches on the southern end of the island (on other maps just look around the edges of large bodies of water) and sometimes they may be in the water. They are a knockout tame so make sure to prepare 25ish tranqs (for a high level) or 15ish tranq darts (again, for a high level).
2. You can use mejos, however, for a high level it is better to use kibble, for the extra speed and effectiveness. Beware, though, because these things absolutely inhale kibble. For a max level on single player bring 25ish regular kibble
3. The best strategy for taming these is to walk backwards away from it and shoot its legs or head. DO NOT SHOOT ITS SHELL OR TAIL! (It will take reduced damage and therefore torpidity). You can trap it if you are unable to maneuver well enough but it will cost extra resources. It’s torpor drops slow enough you won’t need extra narcotics to feed it
Happy taming!
If you accidentally punch one of these I recommend running to the nearest rock and slowly walking away behind it. The carbonemys will loose interest and walk away. This is because it won’t see you, But if it doesn’t work run away but what ever you do… DON’T SWIM AWAY!!! Carbonemys are giant turtles and turtles swim. They have really high health stats (if your a noob) and swim fast. Unless you have a fast swim mount or fly mount you can swim or fly over the water to escape.
I hope this helped!
Do NOT fight these if you only have beginner weapons! They actually can kill you if you don’t know what you’re doing (learned from experience)
Don’t even think about punching one of these guys
You just did before I said this didn’t you?
Secret : you can hop on there back even if they’re not tamed! Just jump on their back you get a free ride they don’t care!
how to tame : ( for easy difficulty
first get mejoberries at least 75 if ur doing it for the first time
second get slingshot and get rocks (45-65)
third slowly walk back and hit the turtle continuously with the slingshot or stand on a high rock and keep hitting it
fourth after you knock it unconscious put mejoberries in inventory and wait( if high lvl you might need narcotics or bio toxin)
fifth craft a saddle for it
170 hide
95 fiber
10 cementing paste(to get it u can craft it in a mortar and pestle with 8 stone and 4 chitin/keratin
six enjoy!
